A couple weeks ago I had a Rising Star contest and put up a Buster and Jerome card as the prizes. Stay tuned below for the results and a new giveaway!
I mentioned in my last contest post that Rising Star is making some changes to the STARBITS Millionaire mission. In a nutshell, those changes require minimum amounts of fans to run the mission and that minimum requirement would rise by 100 fans each time the mission is run.
As a result of the rule change, I did some math on my own Starbits account to determine whether it would make sense for me to continue running the millionaire mission. The new fan requirements are (1000 + (100 x # of mission completions)) so for someone like me who has run the mission 124 times, I would need to have 1000 + (100 x 124) = 13,400 fans.

The problem is that I currently have 6054 fans. This means I would need to purchase another 7,346 fans in order to run the Millionaire mission. At recent prices of 8000 STARBITS per 100 fans, that's about 587,000 STARBITS needing to be spent on acquiring fans.

The problem isn't just the half million STARBITS though. I also realized I would need to increase my skill by a similar amount in order to offset the number of fans to keep my ego meter in check. This would cost another couple hundred thousand STARBITS.
At the end of my calculations, I simply determined that I didn't want to throw another million STARBITS at being able to run a single mission after I already had 1,000,000 locked up to use the card in the first place.
I also expected that STARBITS pricing would fall precipitously as others did the same calculations and sold off their million STARBITS since they aren't running the mission anymore. That's exactly what's been happening. Note that some of the price movement at the end of the graph is due to a price spike for HIVE, but prior to that the price of HIVE was fairly consistent.

For the sake of disclosure, I sold the million STARBITS I held 9 days ago (June 21) since I determined I wouldn't be running the Millionaire mission any longer.
Does this change anything for my gameplay? Not really. The only difference in my daily routine is that I'm not running that Millionaire mission and instead putting that energy toward the Local Mini Tour Support mission. I'm still trying to get to level 65 so I can run Band Auditions and finish the Local Gig Circuit.
Okay, enough about the game updates, lets get to the giveaway!

New Pack Opening

That Vuvuzela card is pretty cool! I remember when the Vuvuzela was banned by FIFA because of the obnoxious noise generated by a stadium full of them. If I recall correctly, I think the television broadcasters actually had to mute the sound frequency generated by these instruments so it wouldn't dominate the audio of the broadcasts.
My current RisingStar stats are as follows:
6054 Fans
1178 Luck
9532 Skill
155 Cards
Level 64

My next goal is getting to level 65 so I can unlock the Band Auditions mission and complete the Local Gig Circuit zone.
