Hi everyone! This is silentwill, and today is a lucky day for me in Rising Star!
If you don't know yet, Rising Star is a free-to-play music career game that let's you earn Starbits token which is tradable in the Hive engine. It's probably the most laidback block chain game you can play: you just go on a mission and come back when it's done to collect your Starbits and go on another one, while discovering awesome music from independent artists and collecting cards, some of which feature my favorite Twitch streamers. You do get to do some balancing later on in the game with your skill stats and the number of your fans but it's not overly complicated and won't stress you out.
I started playing this game after I watched several Splinterlands streamers play it on the side. I got intrigued and decided to sign up during one of @drabs587's streams and used his link. The next day, I won a Rare card from Skynotic's (@skyn) stream and he chose to give me Stacy which significantly sped up my progress in the first few missions. Since then, I have won a few more cards from other streamers (@rakhmen, @cmmndrbawang, @rentaw03, @bokica80, hope I did not miss anyone) and even won one from the creator of the game Jux himself (@atomcollector) when he gave out a Skill Boost card during one of @zapf-brannigan's streams. I have also bought a few packs and got an R100 Pixie (@pixiepost), my first streamer card.
Today I watched SilentxNecrosis' (@thercek) stream, and at first he was playing a tournament in Splinterlands and he was actually one of my opponents there.
Later he hosted Marbles tournaments with Rising Star cards as prizes, one of which was his own card in the game, R 137 Silent X.
I did not win in the first Grand Prix but in the last one, I knew I was in good position to make the Podium and win something after winning the first race and placing in 2 of the other 3 races. I did not hear clearly what were the prizes for the top 2, just that they were the same and heard Silent X was the third prize and wanted to get that.
So when I ended up as the first place winner and he was giving out the prize to the third placer, I commented I wish I had won that, and he sent me one. I thought that he changed my prize because I wanted to get his card, which was fine with me, but he said that he just hooked me up with one for FREE due to always being present in his streams for several months now! Aw, much love, fam. Thank you!
I then found out I actually won a pack, like the second placer, and he still would be giving me one. He first opened the pack for second place which funny enough had another Silent X card, and before he opened mine he said he wish I would get a different streamer card since he knew I wanted to collect those and proceeded to open it.
At first I did not realize what made him pause after opening the pack. My attention was focused on the Rosetta card at the left because that's usually where the best (Rare) cards are and to be honest I was slightly disappointed because I thought I already had one (turns out I didn't) and that it wasn't another streamer card. Then I noticed the epic card in the middle, an E51 Gordie and was shocked! SilentxNecrosis' jaw himself dropped. You can see the opening and his reaction here.
