7-Eleven Is Waging War on Medical Cannabis Businesses in Oklaho
“What we’re hearing from 7-Eleven is they consider this a criminal activity and money laundering, and there are 300,000 Oklahomans with medical cards, and they seem to think their business is not important,” Norwood said.
“The new owner does not want to lease to the cannabis industry. It’s a company out of Texas so I have until July 31 to vacate the premises,” Christian Oliver, owner of Gayle’s Dispensary, said.
Based on the previous email, the tenants expected their leases to automatically renew. But on June 16, each cannabis business renting these properties was notified by phone that their leases would not be extended.
"I couldn't believe it, to be honest,” said John Koumbis, owner of JKJ Processing, to The Oklahoma Chronic. “It's utterly ridiculous of them to shove that onto us at this kind of short notice, and the worst part is, there are several hundreds of us that are going to be impacted by this. The space we occupy was empty for 13 years before we leased it from them, and I'm not sure what they're thinking with this, honestly."

I reached out to the property manager, and 7-Eleven's corporate offices both here, and in Texas for comment about this situation and to share their reasonings for pushing these businesses out, and received nothing. Even though 7-Eleven has remained silent after putting, at a minimum, dozens of Oklahoma cannabis businesses in an incredibly tight spot during a global pandemic, these canna-businesses have always embodied Oklahoma's drive to succeed against all odds, and in spite of 7-Eleven's apparent disdain for the industry and its employees, they'll continue to do just that: succeed.

Rainin said. “Ninety-five percent of our sales now occur in advance through our website. We are very close to launching touchless payments using your bank account, it’s like Venmo but approved for cannabis by a sponsoring bank.
“In-store, all transactions take place while wearing gloves and without any physical contact,” he continued. “Our staff is equipped with the appropriate [personal protective equipment] and safety education to ensure a safe customer journey. In addition, all facilities are equipped with commercial-grade air filtration and sanitation systems.”
“Within twenty-four hours of the ‘shelter in place’ orders rolling out, we unlocked Jane Curbside Pickup for our dispensary partners,” Rosenfeld said. “It allowed consumers to shop current inventory and pick up their orders without setting foot inside a dispensary.”
“We practice social distancing inside the store and the line outside,” said Pedro Fonseca, general manager at Harborside. “Customers and employees are required to wear masks at all times.”
he said. “Cannabis is medicine, after all, and our employees reflect our values in taking health seriously.”
AG William Barr Inappropriately Used DOJ Funds To Target Marijuana Industry
According to a Justice Department whistleblower, reefer madness still continues with Attorney General William Barr.
A highly publicized, potential merger between MedMen and PharmaCann fell apart, due to regulatory delays caused by one such DOJ probe. Despite DOJ staff concluding the deal was “unlikely to raise any significant competitive concerns,” Barr still called for a second investigation.
state variety in regulation. While the DOJ held up the deal, MedMen stock prices fell about a third of their original value.
