What's up Weed Nerds? I have been slacking on posting up in the #cannabis tag. It has been a whole 19 days since my last update, which is way to long. I was hoping to do one once a week, but with just one plant it is hard to find the motivation to make it interesting. Especially since I have not done much at all with it. In fact the only thing that I have done is give it tap water. Not too much difficulty with that process. There is one thing that I make sure to do, and that is to set the tap water out for at least 24 hours prior to watering. 48 hours if you can. This process allows for the chlorine to dissipate.
So let me bring you up to speed on this 1 plant grow. In the past I had a 4x4 tent with a 600 Watt bar style LED. This was in my room, of my 2 BDR apartment. My wife was about to give birth to our 3rd son, and it was best for me to take a break to allow room for a crib. The plan was to get a small tent, and do a 1 plant grow in that. That never came to fruition, since our son is still sleeping with us. I should of knew better, but I was still holding on to hope. I love growing my own cannabis. It was weird not have any plants in the home, since it was something that I grew accustomed to.
Fast forword to the start of spring. I was finally fed up with not growing nothing at all. So I decided I would do an Autoflower in my backyard. The reason being Photos do not do well since the sun does not shine a full day due to the building blocking the early morning rays, and late days. So I decided I would do a White Grape from BifBeans.
Fast forword a month after sowing the seed. Turns out it is not an Auto! I must of put a seed in the WG packaging thinking I would remember precisely what it was. It may of been my last Steem Og seed. The seed I made way back in the heydays of Steem in tribute to such a kick ass place. Still is, but now its called Hive ;)
This is not a total loss. In fact this is a gain! You see Steem Og was a cross made with the first flower I ever grew, Tahoo Og x Og Kush. Yes that OG. I live in Salinas, CA where the real OG traveled to from SOCal. I remember the real OG back in the mid 2000's, and let me tell you this is the best bud I have ever had in my life. I never have seen any OG that even came close ever since. Except for the Tahoo I had with that OG crossed into it. Mind you it was never as good as the real OG, but it was good. So I am happy to still have something of it left.
This male has stunk up my apt from when it was a few weeks old. I would wake up in the morning, and my whole apt would smell like a sweet skunks ass. Now I just have it in the backyard, and it provides a nice aroma, masking the smell of dog shit from my neighbors yard.
So I am proposing a cool little project just for the nerd aspect of it. I am willing to send out pollen to any of you growers out there to hit one of your females. It can even just be one flower. Who knows maybe you want to take it further, and see what becomes of it. But even just to make a few seeds, I think that would be a cool thing to do here on Hive. Maybe we could even call this the Fork of Steem Og to Hive Og? Just as a symbolic gesture to our cannabis community here. Also as a way to say thanks for all it has done. If your down let me know. The only catch is I expect you to post your journey here on Hive. I might just ask for a little Hive to help with the shipping costs.
But now that I am stuck with this, I may decide to still try to do an auto to finish the season out with. But I wasn't to see how big I can actually get this male for fun. I most likely will have to transplant it into a bigger pot. One thing forsure is that even though I am bummed I won't have any homegrown Sensimilla, at least
