Learning musical instruments should be one of the things all humans should consider in their lifetime on earth. This is because music itself is the soul of life. Music can heal, restore and change lives. The importance of learning a musical instrument cannot be overemphasised because they are enormous. Learning musical instruments can put someone on a faster pedestal to success than others who do not.
Music is a spirit that affects the body and soul of a person. Knowing how to play a musical instrument of any kind has a way of affecting the thinking capabilities of the player. Playing musical instruments is an effective way of developing a person's mental health. Understanding the intonations, rise and fall, as well as the timings in music, is enough to know that a person is doing well health-wise.
The first step to succeeding in music as a career begins with learning musical instruments. I have not seen a successful musician without the idea of playing any musical instruments. Playing a musical instrument has a way of sharpening and shaping our understanding of music. As a musician or an intending musician, or anyone who wants to make a music career should first consider learning a musical instrument.
It is also a means of unleashing creativity in a person. Learning a musical instrument helps in sparking creativity through thinking. An instrumentalist thinks and looks for ways to bring flavours and styles into music. A dull person cannot make a good instrumentalist because of their inability to bring out something new from their playing style.
It is a source of income. By learning musical instruments one can make passive income. Not just a passive income it can become a main source of income for a person who can play very well. Some organisations, like churches, pay instrumentalists a good amount of money. Beyond playing for organisations, you can play for musicians and still make money. Lots of people survive by playing musical instruments.
It's an avenue for open doors to other opportunities. Knowing how to play a musical instrument can be an avenue for open doors to other opportunities in life. I know of someone who had a job in a big organisation because he plays keyboard in a church, and one of the church members decided to give him a job in his company. Also, I witnessed someone who was sent abroad on a scholarship because he plays the saxophone very well. Learning a musical instrument can serve as a conduit for other opportunities in life.
An avenue to connect with other instrumentalists. Learning and knowing how to play a musical instrument will help you connect with other instrumentalists. Through this connection, ideas can be shared, opportunities can also open, and a fast learning process can be achieved.
The importance of learning musical instruments, as I said earlier, is enormous, and the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore I would advise people to learn at least a musical instrument.
