" I'M BACK !!! "
Hello Hivers around the world, hoping you have a good day today. For this blog, I will just update you guys on my Worke Life status. In my previous blog on this Community, I published about my Last Day of Work in our Project Site at my previous company. The post I made makes me obligated to share with you my new working environment this day. So let me share with you this blog.
Starting New Journey
This is a very late update cause I already started on this new workplace four months ago last November 2022 (a very late update? or has it already expired? π ). Anyway, for everyone's information, I'm working in the Construction industry for Four years already. My last project was involved in a Highrise construction here in Cebu Philippines. It was a quietly challenging journey. A lot of difficulties that mold me into a broad professional. I was glad I became part of those teams.
Now!!!, talking about my new workplace, I don't know if it will be called new because honestly this employer I have today is a sister company of my first employer as an Engineer, and for Godsakes, I was deployed in the same project that Ive been worked for, 3 years ago. I don't know if I will be happy, I know the project is already familiar to me, and no need to study for adjustment. But in my mind, will I grow on this same project?. I was hesitant honestly to accept the final offer because of the location. It takes me a week to accept it.
Why I Accepted The Offer?
First, I need a stable source of income at that time. Being one of the breadwinners of the family I can't take to be jobless for too long (Poor mankind π ). Second, I believe that "Everything happens for a reason", and I want to find the answer to why. Lastly, since the workload or the type of work I have is new to me. I take the challenge to learn and grow in this other aspect of construction. In addition, I missed the view on the area, look at the photos below they are all stress-relieving.
Before, I always am working on a General Construction team. We are the ones who initiate and secure the process was initiated correctly onsite. The workload I have before takes close monitoring onsite for the progress of the project. This time, I'm with the developer team, we are in the management team that monitors the progress base on the accomplishment made by General contractors. The workload is not heavier than in my previous company and I think that this work right now is not more stressful than the previous one.
Honestly, aside from the development I was looking for in a workplace. I will always pray that the project especially the people I will work with is not Toxic like your ex (Kidding π ). Nowadays, having a happy working environment is very important. Because your workplace can affect who you are in the future. So be wise and think deeply about choosing the environment you will work with.
New Work but Old Project
I'm back !!!, that's the first thought that comes up to my mind when I touch down the ground of this Housing Project where 3 years ago I started my journey as a newbie in the construction industry. The memories and experiences here before have been reminisced in my mind. Theirs a lot of changes especially in the number of structures constructed.
This a mass housing project developed by my new employer today. I think it needs another 3 - 4 years to complete it 100%. It has a total of 7 phases but we only have 3 phases today that are active and ongoing construction. In this 3 phase, there are 900+ households. a huge number of housing projects right?
For my four months already on this project, again π and working with this group of people, I can already say that my decision four months ago was right. You know the energy and vibes working on this project are soo light. The people are approachable, the team leaders are also cleavers. They are not soo hard to work with. In terms of challenges, everyone is proactive in solving them quickly and with a smooth approach. Where everyone can smile at the end of the day. This is the first time I'm looking forward to working with them every day. I love working with these people honestly. Hoping we will work together in a long-term period like this.
In four months theirs a lot already happened in my new workplace, but let me end this first chapter on this point cause I think its already 500 pages if I write it down in a book today. So, Chao for now, sorry for hanging you up. See you in my next blog and stories in my new Workplace.
