There are a ton of new features coming out in 2021 for the Monero cryptocurrency. Check out the roadmap for 2021 and future:

I think the best feature coming out this year will be atomic swaps. They will allow a trustless and anonymous (for Monero users) exchange of assets between the Monero blockchain and other blockchains - all without any intermediary. I think it will open a whole new market for Monero, and allow new demographics access to it.
It also makes it so that Monero doesn't have to rely on an exchange to be traded online - decentralized or centralized. It can all be done on the Monero protocol. This helps future proof it in many ways.
