I dropped off some staff at Hazendal. This were just another sunny afternoon with me working. Then as I turned to go out again, I noticed a big glass walled room. Inside there were some old cars. I just had to go take a look.
This is what I found.

This small clection of vintage cars and golf isn't the only thing of interest on the Hazendal wine estate.
Hazebdal is Cape Towns leading wedding venue. They offer an array of world class boutique multi-purpose venues for hosting the wedding you’ve always dreamed of.
Part of the Hazendal charm is that it is totally family friendly.
This is a place to visit if you come to the Western Cape.

Creating assets isn't as easy as it sounds but it's a worth while challenge. I learn quickly though.
The first thing I learned was that if you do anything involving people carefully select your team.
I started a shuttle company and built the business around the booking agent. The booking agent were to find work for the drivers. I signed up the first available person for a booking agent believing that an offer of immediate payment on every completed trip will do the trick.
After a month of doing very little to bring in trips, the booking agent informed me that she is going to look for a job with a paycheck. This folds up the business until I find a new booking agent.
The second lesson is that I have to be involved, at least until everyone understands their roll in the company.
Creating an asset is hands on for the first few months. Even if you design a system that will function without you you still need to know what is going on and guide your people.
In the second round I won't make the same mistakes.

Yesterday we went past the beach again.

It was a different guy this time building the sandcastles.
