Somewhere in all of the shorts and reels on ADHD I found an interesting bit that not only applies to ADHD. This can be used by anyone.
Somewhere on a reel someone said ADHD is dopamine driven. Low levels of Dopamine brings out more ADHD symptoms. Higher levels of Dopamine gives you more control.
Now I am not going to discuss dopamine other than saying it's a pleasure drug that your body produce. If you are enjoying yourself and are happy, your body produce more dopamine in the moment. If you are sad or depressed, the body does not produce dopamine.
The young lady in the video said that that being the case, she approach everything with an attitude that says this is a fun challenge. This boost her dopamine levels and her quality of life improved.
This is something I am going to practice every day from now on. Even without ADHD more dopamine will be really nice.
On a one of the Facebook reels a guy said being poor is not the problem. You suck a being poor that is that is the problem.
When you are poor you just have to work harder to have nice things.
This kind of irritated me for a while. Then I réalised that neither complaining nor hoping for more. I may not have money to do the things I want to do but there is a lot I can do to make my life better or more beautiful.
Take for instance, we have been talking about getting paving in the back yard. We just never had the money.
At some point the neighbor got some offcut bricks from someone else's paving and paved part of his garden. Then, a bit more than a month ago, he pulled the bricks because he got some paving blocks.
He asked my son if we wanted it so it landed up in my garden.
You remember the nice table and firepit I wrote about a while back. It didn't look so nice any more.
I walked around irritated by this mess for a while. Then today I réalised I just suck at being poor. My problem isn't not being able to afford sand to level the yard or being able to get someone to do it. My problem is that I'm not used to pushing my hands out of my sleeves and making my own nice things.
I will learn as I go but eventually I'll have paving in my back yard.
The world get changed by the things you do not by complaints.
The end of another day. I'll spend my weekend paving. Life will get better.
I appreciate your support.
Live life to the fullest.
