Hi guys, I trust you all had a lovely day. Something happened to me some days ago, that i needed to let out of my chest, so I thought about it and came to a conclusion, what better place than visit this amazing community and clear my mind. This is my first time ever making a post here.
Communication is really the key in all that we do, it doesn't leave room for assumptions, because if there's no communication, you leave people with no other choice than to assume, and our assumption might not be the real picture of what is happening or what happened, but between don't know any better we just assume.
A few days ago, something happened that got me really upset, because it threw me into a state of frenzy and worry. So the freezer in my family's house had been bad for a while, it wasn't cooling or freezing as it should, so there was a need for a technician to come check it.
I no longer stay with my parents, but my dad had talked about the freezer two or three times when we talked, so I knew I had to do something. I contacted a friend at home and asked if he knew someone who could have a look, since I didn't know anyone. He suggested someone, and I asked him to go ahead and call the person. He got back to me that the technician said that they had to take the freezer to his workshop so they could properly check it, I didn't have a problem with that, so they took it.
After proper diagnosis, he told us what was wrong with it and why it wasn't cooling anymore, so I asked how much it would cost to fix it, and he called an amount way more than what I had budget, I had to negotiate, we when back and forth until we agreed at an amount, even though the amount was still above my budget.
I had to send my friend the money so he could help give the technician, this happened three days to the main incident, but three days after, my friend hadn't still sent the money for them to commence the repair, I was worried, I tried reaching him over the phone for two consecutive days but his phone number wasn't going through, I was growing anxious, what if he had used the money for some other thing, or he was involved in an accident or if he had been scammed of the money (entered one chance as my people will say), there was nothing I didn't think, as I knew what it took me to raise the amount.
After three almost four days, I had to call someone that he looks up to like a big brother figure and explain the whole thing to him, asking if he had heard from my friend, he said he did hear from him the previous day after a long while, he promised to reach out to him and let me know the result. I thanked him.
Later that day, my friend sent me a message on WhatsApp with someone else's number, apologizing for not reaching out earlier. I just told him to send me my money. He said he had just given the money to the man, that his phone was switched off for days because there was no power.
At this point, I didn't know if I was to be happy or upset, happy that I had gotten the money back or upset that he made me worry unnecessarily. I'm just glad that at the end everything worked out well.
