Last weekend, I updated an article on my travel blog introducing travel sketching. Sure, I have fun writing new articles for the blog and in fact, I published two articles. Writing is the easy part as I have blog topics already in mind. I think writing is my forte now because I can write here on Hive almost every day and for my travel blog once a week.
What's giving me a headache right now is the technicalities of a WordPress blog. Haha!
I just registered to a new affiliate marketing site to handle all payments from these affiliate brands. Fortunately, I got approved.
Here I am updating my old articles with new links.
And I had to edit the formatting of my old posts back in 2013. OMG, that's about 10 years of travel content.
I am using Elementor as my theme builder so I need to re-arrange the format of all these articles.
I have a problem locating all the correct photos from the past while editing an article. This is the reason it's giving me a headache.
Well, updating my travel blog will make this a passive income source through affiliate marketing.
Another reason to update my blog is to renew my technical learnings with WordPress and Elementor.
As a stay-at-home mom, I feel like I am getting rusty learning new stuff and several things are happening in the SEO world.
Somehow, it is giving exercise to my brain. I really need this. I had the fear of missing out on not getting updates as a Virtual Assistant. I plan to find an online job related to my technical expertise.
Also Another Rant
I am also disappointed with the online job platform I've been using since I started. Last week, I searched for a job but you need to pay for "connects" just to apply for several jobs. I spent $30 already but no ROI. Nobody has responded to my job application. Meaning, I haven't got any job interviews.
They have a recent update that if you receive a job invitation, you still need to pay for "connects" or the applicant needs to bid for this job invitation. This is insane. This online job company is making money for both job companies and job applicants. I am just totally disgusted. My $30 has gone through thin air.
Although I am thankful
Well, I am thankful there is Hive because I have been earning for one year already. Although my earnings are not considered a full-time job earning, this is like a side hustle for me instead of spending my time on other social media that won't let me earn anything. I am just happy that I have some money to spend if I need something.
Somehow, it will take time for my travel blog to earn as I also need to promote this on different social media. I have to improve the SEO techniques of each article. I need to learn more about SEO.
Anyway, I'll just continue to write more articles and dedicate another time to technicalities. I am hoping to be successful with affiliate marketing by creating content on my blog.
When I get my first earnings, I will create an update here on Hive. Yahoo!
