In all this time travelling I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people passing through but who, in one way or another, left a good impression on me. Working in many hostels in Argentina brought me closer to a lot of cultures that I didn't know, made me share moments with people from countries that I didn't even know where they were located on the map and above all, left me with a lot of good memories. Many people shared with me their good energy and valuable advice that I still use today, and also made me think about some things. One of them is about decision making, and now every time I am about to decide something, I end up sorting out whether my actions are taken from the rational or the sentimental side 🙂.
En todo este tiempo viajando tuve la oportunidad de conocer a un montón de personas de paso pero que, de alguna forma u otra, me dejaron una buena huella. Trabajar en muchos hosteles de Argentina me acercó a un montón de culturas que desconocía, me hizo compartir momentos con personas de países que ni siquiera sabía en donde estaban ubicados en el mapa y por sobre todo, me dejó una gran cantidad de buenos recuerdos. Mucha gente me compartió su buena energía y consejos valiosos que hasta el día de hoy utilizo, y también me hicieron reflexionar sobre algunas cosas. Una de ellas es acerca de la toma de decisiones, y ahora cada vez que estoy por decidir algo, termino clasificando si mis acciones están tomadas desde el lado racional o el sentimental 🙂.
In all this long walk that continues to extend from September 2023, many people have passed through my life, more than I would have thought. With all of them I shared walks, lunches, dinners, nights out, hikes, camping, experiencies, reflections, memories, deep talks and also feelings. I think that all these things helped me to grow and improve as a person, adopting good habits and incorporating into my own personality attitudes or ways of being that I liked and that were a direct influence of those who had a positive impact on me ❣️.
En todo este largo paseo que sigue extendiéndose desde septiembre 2023, mucha gente pasó por mi vida, más de la que hubiese pensado. Con todos ellos compartí paseos, almuerzos, cenas, salidas nocturnas, caminatas, campings, experiencias, reflexiones, recuerdos, charlas profundas y también sentimientos. Pienso que todas estas cuestiones me sirvieron para crecer y mejorar como persona, adoptando buenas costumbres e incorporando a mi propia personalidad actitudes o formas de ser que me gustaron y que fueron influencia directa de aquellos que me impactaron positivamente ❣️.
While I had many friends in passing, I also occasionally opened up romantically with those who interested me a little more. Although I am careful not to get too involved with people I know I will probably only see for a few days and then never again, I sometimes get carried away. One of those times was during my trip to Cafayate in Salta in August, when while I was working in a hostel I met a Dutch guest with whom we immediately hit it off and went for a walk around the town together. While we were chatting a bit about everything to get to know each other a bit better, one of his questions was whether ‘when I have to make decisions, I do it thinking with my reason or with my heart’. I found this question very interesting because I had never thought about it before.
Si bien tuve muchos amigos de pasada, en ocasiones también me abrí sentimentalmente con aquellos que me interesaron un poco más. A pesar de que me cuido de no involucrarme tanto con personas que sé que probablemente vea solo unos días y luego nunca más, a veces me dejo llevar. Una de esas veces fue durante mi viaje a Cafayate en Salta en el mes de agosto, cuando mientras trabajaba en un hostel conocí a un huésped holandés con quien tuvimos buena onda enseguida y fuimos a pasear juntos por el pueblo. Mientras charlábamos de todo un poco para conocernos un poco más, una de sus preguntas fue si "cuando tengo que tomar decisiones, lo hago pensando con la razón o el corazón". Esta pregunta me resultó muy interesante porque yo nunca había pensado en eso.
My response at the time was that most of the decisions I had made before that trip had been with reason. Before I started travelling I had always been dedicated to studying and working, saving money, learning new things, staying healthy, worrying about my future. But the decision to embark on a nomadic journey had been entirely from the heart and out of a desire to experience new things and live a little bit in the moment, at least in this part of my life. That he asked me this question forever conditioned me to stop and think about whether every important decision in my life is made with reason or the heart, and I like to know that I have a balance between the two, or at least I try to. What about you, are you more rational or sentimental beings ❣️?
En ese momento mi respuesta fue que la mayoría de las decisiones que había tomado hasta antes de ese viaje habían sido con la razón. Antes de empezar a viajar siempre me había dedicado a estudiar y a trabajar, ahorrar dinero, aprender cosas nuevas, mantenerme saludable, preocuparme por mi futuro. Pero la decisión de emprender un viaje nómade había sido totalmente con el corazón y por las ganas de querer experimentar cosas nuevas y vivir un poco el momento, al menos en esta parte de mi vida. Que él me haya hecho esta pregunta me condicionó para siempre a detenerme a pensar en si cada decisión importante en mi vida es tomada con la razón o el corazón, y me gusta saber que tengo un balance entre ambas, o al menos lo intento. ¿Qué hay de ustedes, son seres más racionales o sentimentales ❣️?
Coincidentally, after that afternoon of chatting, our story progressed a little further until he told me that he liked me and I was that way too. The thing was that he had to continue his trip to the north of Argentina and I had to stay in Cafayate working in the hostel. But at the weekend I would have two days off and I proposed that we do something together during that time, which meant that I would travel 200 km by bus to the capital of the province. It was a totally impulsive proposal on my part but luckily, he accepted and that's what we did. That was the beginning of a pseudo romance that lasted from the end of August until the end of December 2024, as long as our personal travels allowed. Having made this decision with my heart ended up becoming a great anecdote that my reason would never have allowed: I was glad that the best option won 😅.
Casualmente después de esa tarde de charla, nuestra historia avanzó un poco más hasta que él me dijo que gustaba de mí y por mi parte también era de ese modo. La cuestión era que él tenía que continuar su viaje al norte de Argentina y yo me tenía que quedar en Cafayate trabajando en el hostel. Pero en el fin de semana yo tendría dos días libres y le propuse hacer algo juntos en ese tiempo, lo que implicaba que yo viajara en bus 200 km hasta la capital de la provincia. Fue una propuesta totalmente impulsiva de mi parte pero por suerte, él aceptó y eso fue lo que hicimos. Ese fue el inicio de un pseudo romance que se extendió desde fin de agosto hasta fin de diciembre 2024, mientras nuestros viajes personales así lo permitieron. Haber tomado esta decisión con el corazón terminó convirtiéndose en una gran anécdota que mi razón nunca hubiera permitido: me alegró que haya ganado la mejor opción 😅.
