I truly wish I could have my research ready by the deadline my doctoral committee is demanding, and I haven't given up on that goal. But the context—rampant inflation, having children, and so on—forces me to prioritize earning income. Earning a PhD in Cuba is an intellectual milestone, not an economic one. When I devote myself body and soul to the research (which I deeply enjoy, by the way), managing family logistics becomes overwhelmingly difficult. Fortunately, what I do on Hive doesn't displease me, since I write about topics I'm passionate about.
