I have always been a proponent to building in public. Personally, that helps me becoming accountable for my actions towards something I build. So, today is the first journey of my bootstrapping cookies and cafe business.
From the last couple of years since I started going to cafes, I decided that in the future, I'd like to have one. I want a cafe that provides a place for people to learn more about cryptocurrency, the blockchain,and a creative space. Finding a place isn't hard. I don't have to rent a space because there are some spaces in my own home for that. If I were to buy a place, then it's going to be the garage that my family sold two years ago before the bankruptcy. The location is pretty nice, it's nearby the inter-state road and also the market. However, pricing would be the problem. But again, I think even if a place is a bit in the alleyway as long as it's interesting, I think people would not mind to find it.
However since we live in Covid-19 era, business is no more about seating in. It's about digital goods and deliveries. So, the cafe can wait but home bake cookies is something that me and my mom can handle.
We did this in the past when I was a kid. It was fun helping my mom and I was very proud of her. Now, we are going to start it all over again. However, I will be in charge of the marketing and the operation while my mom is in charge of the production.
As of now, our starting capital is 2.190.000IDR or equals to 149$. Thankfully, we still have some of the tools that we did from past, so we'll only buy the tools that are broken.
I have been looking into the recipes that my mom made and did market research. Thus far, there are only a few who made that type of cookie. So, that's going to be our premium offers. Other than that, we'll have some more line up and I am also planning to create a gift box with either an artisan tea or coffee.
Our operation is expected to start on the 15th. So, I'd definitely going to check back in again.
