Last time I did this - Race the clock to finish a post to watch a football match - it did not end very well in terms of the game. The post however, to this day, remains close to my heart and I will to this day sometimes go back and read that post with fond memories. It turned out to be one of the better posts I have written over the years.
Football-wise, it isn't going to be that great of a night as well. Tonight though I am not watching a team I support, more like "hoping" to see my wife's team lose :D It is a long shot, I know. But at least we got ice-cream! So it is going to be a little less of a torture.
As I clattered on at my keyboard, my wife was asking me what am I writing about. (Yes, she is one of my most avid readers. No she is still not on hive). My honest answer was, "I have no idea."
By the look she gave, I think she didn't believe me. But that's how I have been writing a lot. I start typing and I just keep writing down what's going on through my mind. Often times, until you pause to think about what is actually going through your mind you don't really know what's going on through your mind. So I wasn't really "faking" it. I actually did not know what I was going to write about.
Not having a set plot or topic in mind has its pros and cons. The cons are obvious - you feel lost at sea..."কূল নাই কিনার নাই , নাইকো দরিয়ার মাঝি" sort of situation! Words seem har to come by and the writers block becomes you past, present and future.

But if you feel confident in your writing and you feel you are on a roll, not having a plot set in stone or an ending fixed opens up innumerable opportunities. Writing actually becomes easier.
You may end up with a "জগাখিচুড়ি" of a post like this one, but in the end, it's a post nonetheless. As a bonus point you also get to use the #philosophicalshit tag, pretty cool eh!
This is a very vanilla post, and I will definitely not be giving this a second read many many months down the line. With my affection towards a post written racing the clock changing, here's to hoping the luck in terms of the football changes too, and I get to enjoy my ice-cream a bit better!
Here's a vague image to go with a vague post.
