Let me start out with a disclaimer:
animals were harmed during the production of this post
I have spent quite a lot of time today, swatting flies inside my apartment and then flushing them through the toilet or sucking them up
with my vacuum cleaner.
I am hesitant to throw them in the trash bin, as after having been swatted they seem to sometimes inflate themselves and come back alive, like the tiny parasitic zombies they are.

It's fair to say that we have an epidemic of flies here in Portugal, so I am not the only one they are bugging. In fact, I saw several people walking around, armed with fly swatters today.
In some countries people carry guns, here they carry fly swatters.
Temporary relief
Like is the case with notifications on our phones, I get some temporary relief when I deal with one, but they show up faster than I can handle.
Getting rid of them seems to be a never ending task.

and yeah, the news is as distracting and unhealthy for us as flies are
I just had a great insight though:
Perhaps I should do the same with unhelpful thoughts, those that are basically the 'voices' of the monsters/ antagonist in my The Monster of Disco story.
Whenever they pop up, I could swat them like flies
especially when I feel like I can't ignore them.
I won't let them feed on me
nor or my energy.
I've got more important things to focus on.
he said, before he got up to swat another dozen or so f***s. Annoying little buggers!
Note to self: let's add the above ( swat unhelpful thoughts like flies ) to my box of mindfulness tricks. It sounds like a more 'fun' exercise than thinking of drifting clouds.

I actually also watched some drifting clouds, in the past couple of days, as I try hard to do less, spend even more time in nature than I usually do. Also, rain is returning, once again, so we actually do have clouds in the sky. Unfortunately that won't leave us with less flies. We need frost for that or an increase in fly eating creatures. I guess F-L-I-E-S aren't included in the bug eating plans of the WEF?
You shall eat ze fliez and be happy.
I'll pass. I don't need flies ( added to my diet ) to feel good.
I'll leave you with this song of a band that I like and listened to a lot in the late 90s, early 2000s. It just popped up into my head. I won't swat it though, just share it with you...
I realize that I never saw the music video, before today.
TO BE CONVINUED
hopefully with fewer flies.
