A few days ago I met with some friends from high school with whom we have thousands of anecdotes in common to share, some funny and a few others a bit risky for the age we were at that time. The good thing about keeping such long friendships is that we grew up together and went from being somewhat irresponsible teenagers to being full-fledged adults, But after all, I'm glad I had those experiences when I was younger, and one of them was missing the school to go to the Bond Street Gallery in the center of the city 😃.
Hace unos días me reuní con unas amigas de la secundaria con las que tenemos miles de anécdotas en común para compartir, algunas graciosas y otras cuantas un poco arriesgadas para la edad que teníamos en ese momento. Lo bueno de mantener amistades tan largas es que crecimos juntos y pasamos de ser unos adolescentes algo irresponsables a ser unos adultos hechos y derechos, Pero después de todo, me alegra haber vivido esas experiencias cuando era más joven, y una de ellas era faltar a la escuela para ir hasta la Galería Bond Street en el centro de la ciudad 😃.
The Bond Street Gallery is a shopping center that includes stores of all the "rebel" things that can appeal to any teenager: piercings, tattoos and "unique and different" clothes. Of course we wanted to be part of the "cool people" that were out there, so we skipped some classes to travel an hour by bus to get there. This anecdote was revealed to my mom just yesterday while we were walking around and you can imagine her face. She still can't complain because I graduated with the best grades possible 😅.
La Galería Bond Street es un centro comercial que incluye tiendas de todas las cosas "rebeldes" que pueden atraer a cualquier adolescente: piercings, tatuajes y ropa "única y diferente". Por supuesto nosotros queríamos ser parte de la "gente genial" que paseaba por allí, así que nos salteabamos algunas clases para viajar una hora en colectivo para llegar hasta allá. Esta anécdota fue revelada a mi mamá recién ayer mientras paseábamos por ahí y pueden imaginar su cara. Igual ella no puede quejarse porque me gradué con las mejores calificaciones posibles 😅.
The whole aesthetic of the Bond gallery is very attractive and at least I have not seen another place like it: graffiti on the walls, decals everywhere and cool and colorful drawings. This place is a great setting for those who want to take great pictures, so many photo shoots take place here. Sure I have a picture of my teenage self in "the Bond", but I have to go too far down in my photo roll 😂.
Toda la estética de la galería Bond es muy atractiva y al menos yo no ví otro lugar parecido: grafittis en las paredes, calcomanías por todas partes y dibujos geniales y coloridos. Este lugar es un gran escenario para aquellos que quieran tomarse grandes fotografías, por lo que muchas sesiones fotográficas tienen su lugar aquí. Seguramente tengo una foto de mi yo adolescente en "la Bond", pero tengo que ir demasiado abajo en mi rollo de fotos 😂.
The real reason for this visit was that we were looking for a dress for my sister's birthday. She wants a black dress for her next birthday, so I thought this would be a good place to look. Before all these things seemed inaccessible to me, but now that I am an adult with a salary I see that the prices are quite accessible ❤️.
El verdadero motivo de esta visita fue que estábamos buscando un vestido para el cumpleaños de mi hermana. Ella quiere un vestido negro para su próximo cumpleaños, así que se me ocurrió que este sería un buen lugar para investigar. Antes todas estas cosas me parecían inaccesibles, pero ahora que soy un adulto con un sueldo veo que los precios son bastante accesibles ❤️.
We didn't find the dress we wanted, but at least we saw some great windows. One of the things that my mother did not like was that there were many places that sold supplies to consume weed, but at least she had fun with the tattoo shops and all the beautiful designs they made there. There was also an area with a cafeteria and some arcade games, but of course, they were full of teenagers 😅.
No encontramos el vestido que queríamos, pero al menos vimos unas vidrieras geniales. Una de las cosas que no le gustó a mi mamá es que habían muchos locales que vendían insumos para consumir marihuana, pero al menos se entretuvo con los locales de tatuajes y todos los lindos diseños que allí hacían. También había una zona con una cafetería y algunos juegos arcades, pero por supuesto, estaban llenos de adolescentes 😅.
Coming back to the Bond Street Gallery after so many years felt good because I remembered how much we loved walking through these colorful corridors with my friends and then going to Mc Donalds for lunch. As for the clothes and things, I still like a lot of everything they sell there, although I know that there are clothes that I would no longer wear, like all those skirts made of boards or socks with holes. At least I was able to have my vibe like this at 17, maybe not with clothes bought precisely here but keeping my style anyway ❣️.
Haber vuelto a la Galería Bond Street después de tantos años se sintió bien porque recordé lo mucho que nos gustaba estar caminando por estos pasillos tan coloridos con mis amigos y después ir a merendar a Mc Donalds. En cuanto a la ropa y las cosas, mucho de todo lo que venden ahí me sigue gustando, aunque sé que hay ropa que ya no usaría, como todas esas polleras de tablas o medias con agujeros. Al menos pude tener mi onda así a los 17, quizás no con ropa comprada precisamente acá pero manteniendo mi estilo de todos modos ❣️.
