Before starting a new trip, I always take the trouble to put together a detailed budget: I don't like the possibility that I don't have enough money to do everything I want to do, so it's best to be safe. On each trip, most of this budget is taken up by plane tickets and accommodation, so I always look for good prices on these two items so that costs do not rise too much. I only have two options for low-cost airlines, while accommodation is what can vary the most due to the wide offer that generally exists in the places where I go. Despite being very careful with this, on my last walk I relaxed a bit with this last question and this led me to choose a hostel that was not so cheap (as usual), but it was worth it because it was quite nice and I will share it with you on this Market Friday hosted by @dswigle ❣️.
Antes de empezar un nuevo viaje siempre me tomo la molestia de armar un presupuesto bien detallado: no me gusta que exista la posibilidad de que no me alcance el dinero para hacer todo lo que quiero hacer, así que lo mejor es prevenir. En cada paseo la mayor parte de este presupuesto se lo llevan los pasajes de avión y los alojamientos, por lo que siempre busco buenos precios en estos dos ítems para que los costos no se eleven demasiado. De aerolíneas solo tengo dos opciones de low-costs, mientras que el alojamiento es lo que más puede variar por la amplia oferta que generalmente existe en los lugares a donde voy. A pesar de ser muy cuidadosa con esto, en mi último paseo me relaje un poco con esta última cuestión y esto me llevó a elegir un hostel no tan barato (como siempre), pero valió la pena porque era bastante lindo y lo compartiré con ustedes en este Market Friday organizado por @dswigle. ❣️.
With all the traveling I've done so far, I've already acquired a "knack" for finding nice and cheap accommodations. This is actually quite easy with the tools out there now: it's basically a matter of doing a little research before depositing your money as a deposit with a hosting service, often hundreds of miles away. Today there are many scams in terms of transferring money, so better be sure. One of the first things I look at to find out if an accommodation is reliable is that it has a website or social networks, and that other users have made good reviews about it. During my last trip to Bariloche, one of the most touristic cities in the south of Argentina, I found a great (great) offer of accommodation and for all tastes and pockets: hotels, inns, apartments, cabins and hostels, the latter being the ones I always choose because they are the best option for solo travelers or small groups of friends 😃.
Con todos los viajes que hice hasta ahora, ya pude adquirir una "habilidad" para encontrar alojamientos lindos y baratos. En realidad, esto es bastante sencillo con las herramientas que hay ahora: básicamente es cuestión de hacer una pequeña investigación antes de depositar tu dinero como seña en un servicio de alojamiento, muchas veces a cientos de kilómetros. Hoy en día existen muchas estafas en cuanto a transferir dinero, así que mejor asegurarse. Una de las primeras cosas en las que me fijo para saber si un alojamiento es confiable es que tenga página de internet o redes sociales, y que otros usuarios hayan hecho buenas reseñas sobre él. Durante mi último viaje a Bariloche, una de las ciudades más turísticas del sur de Argentina, me encontré con una gran (gran) oferta de alojamientos y para todos los gustos y bolsillos: hoteles, hosterias, departamentos, cabañas y hostels, siendo estos últimos los que elijo siempre por ser la mejor opción para viajeros solitarios o pequeños grupos de amigos 😃.
The city offered quite a number of hostels: if you don't know what this accommodation is about, it basically consists of paying for a bed in a room, usually shared with other travelers. This place has bathrooms and kitchen, also shared where you can prepare your food. It is the cheapest option because you also save on dining out: I always say that it is the best option for a trip with a limited budget or in which you are interested in spending your money on something other than the place to rest. So far I have been in dozens of hostels in Argentina and all my experiences have been good, I never had any problem with sharing a room with anyone and I met several great people ❣️.
La ciudad ofrecía bastante cantidad de hostels: si no sabes de qué se trata este alojamiento, consiste básicamente en pagar por una cama en una habitación, generalmente compartida con otros viajeros. Este lugar cuenta con baños y cocina, también compartidos en donde puedes preparar tus alimentos. Es la opción más económica porque ahorras también en salidas a cenar: yo siempre digo que es la mejor opción para un viaje con presupuesto acotado o en el que te interese gastar tu dinero en otra cosa que no sea el lugar para descansar. Hasta ahora estuve en decenas de hostels por Argentina y todas mis experiencias fueron buenas, nunca tuve ningún problema con compartir la habitación con nadie y conocí a varias personas geniales ❣️.
The prices of the hostels in Bariloche during the month of April, still low season in this city, ranged from 4000 ARS onwards (10 USD approx). There really were several to choose from and they all looked pretty decent, but while browsing through all the possible options, I saw one that looked quite nice and with a direct view of Bariloche's main lake, Lake Nahuel Huapi. Of course, the owners know the privilege of having that location and that was reflected in the price, since the night there cost 7000 ARS per night (17.5 USD). That's where my dilemma began because I don't like spending more on accommodation, but at the same time I already imagined myself having a coffee near the window looking at the water and the mountains 😅.
Los precios de los hostels en Bariloche durante el mes de Abril, aún temporada baja en esta ciudad, iban desde los 4000 ARS en adelante (10 USD aprox). Realmente habían varios para elegir y todos se veían bastante decentes, pero mientras navegaba entre todas las opciones posibles, vi uno que se veía bastante lindo y con una vista directa al lago principal de Bariloche, el lago Nahuel Huapi. Por supuesto, los dueños saben el privilegio de tener esa ubicación y eso se veía reflejado en el precio, ya que la noche ahí costaba 7000 ARS por noche (17.5 USD). Ahí empezó mi dilema porque no me gusta gastar de más en alojamiento, pero a la vez ya me imaginaba tomando un café cerca de la ventana mirando el agua y las montañas 😅.
For the first time on a ride, I didn't think about it so much and I let myself be carried away by what I liked and not by what I want to afford, so I ended up choosing that one. Obviously I was very influenced by that phrase that "money comes and goes", so I decided to treat myself and stay a few days in that beautiful place. When the day of the trip finally came and I went, I was happy to rest there for a bit looking at the scenery without having to immediately go out and explore the surroundings 😃.
Por primera vez en un paseo, no lo pensé tanto y me dejé llevar por lo que me gustó y no por lo que quería pagar así que terminé por elegir ese. Obviamente fui muy influenciada por esa frase de que "el dinero va y viene", así que decidí darme el gusto y quedarme unos días en ese lindo lugar. Cuando finalmente llegó el día del viaje y fuí, me alegró poder descansar un poco ahí mirando el paisaje sin tener que salir inmediatamente a recorrer los alrededores 😃.
As for the hostel's facilities, I must say that although it was nice, it was not too luxurious. This place was pretty basic and nothing special compared to other hostels I've been to. Clearly its differential item is the location in front of the lake, but the rest was all pretty average. I never attach such importance to this, so for me it was fine and at least I got rid of the desire to stay where I wanted that time 🙂.
En cuanto a las instalaciones del hostel, debo decir que si bien era lindo, no era demasiado lujoso. Este lugar era bastante sencillo y no tenía nada de extraordinario en comparación a otros hostels en los que estuve. Claramente su ítem diferencial es la ubicación enfrente del lago, pero el resto era todo bastante regular. Nunca le doy tanta importancia a esto, asi que para mí estuvo bien y al menos me saqué las ganas de alojarme en donde quería esa vez 😃.
As in most places I stay, everything was full of motivational and mood-inspiring quotes. This place also offered excursions and airport transfers, something that seemed good to me if you don't know how to navigate the area. As for the room that I got, this time I had to share the space with 3 men who were not sociable at all, and that was probably what surprised me the most about my roommates. In all the shared rooms that I stayed in before, I was able to converse in the best way with the other guests, but it seems that they were shy or perhaps did not want to speak to me. Really weird 😅.
Como en la mayoría de los lugares en los que me hospedo, todo estaba lleno de frases motivaciones y que inspiran al buen humor. Este lugar también ofrecía servicio de excursiones y traslados al aeropuerto, algo que me pareció bien por si no sabes como manejarte en la zona. En cuanto a la habitación que me tocó, esta vez tuve que compartir el espacio con 3 hombres los cuales no eran para nada sociables, y probablemente eso fue lo que más me sorprendió de mis compañeros de cuarto. En todas las habitaciones compartidas que estuve antes pude conversar de la mejor manera con los demás huéspedes, pero parece que ellos eran tímidos o quizás no querían hablarme. De verdad raro 😅.
In general terms, I liked having contracted this service because I think it fulfilled its function well, which was to accommodate me while I was walking around Bariloche. Although my roommates weren't the most sociable, during potluck dinners I was able to chat with other girls who even treated me to some cheese and wine. I believe that staying in a hostel is the best way to meet other travelers and share experiences, so it is always my first option, even though it is cheaper. I was glad to have discovered a new hostel and if you ask me if I would return here in the future during another trip to Bariloche, I would surely say yes ❣️.
En líneas generales, me gustó haber contratado ese servicio porque creo que cumplió bien su función que era alojarme mientras paseaba por Bariloche. Si bien mis compañeros de habitación no fueron los más sociables, durante las cenas compartidas pude charlar con otras chicas que incluso me convidaron algo de queso y vino. Yo creo que hospedarse en hostel es la mejor forma de conocer a otros viajeros y compartir experiencias, así que siempre es mi primera opción, más allá de que es más económico. Me alegré de haber conocido un hostel nuevo y si me preguntan si volvería acá en el futuro durante otro viaje a Bariloche, seguramente diría que sí ❣️.
