There are a whole lot aspect of our lives that most of the time we fail to understand that it is very important probably because we have been so much used to it actually for so long. Oxygen is something that is very important to us but due to the fact that we have been used to it, we fail to understand that. There is a whole lot that oxygen does to our body that we are not aware of including myself. It helps every part of us to work well, especially our brain, heart, and muscles.
Many of us did not know that our oxygen level in our blood must not low. I myself was not aware of this until I personally carried some deep research about it. When the oxygen level in our blood is low, what it simple means is that our body is not getting enough air to stay healthy. This condition is called hypoxemia. The most pathetic thing is if it is not treated on time, it can be very dangerous and even leads to lots of health issues.
In Nigeria and other parts of the world, many people don’t even know they have low oxygen levels. Sometimes, they think it is just tiredness, stress, or malaria. But low oxygen in the blood can lead to serious problems. If you are reading this, there are some signs you can pay attention to that can point out that you are suffering from low oxygen in the blood which I want to talk about also.
Whenever you begin to experience shortness of breath even when you are resting, fast heartbeat, headache, even chest pain sometimes and lots more. Whenever you notice these signs, I will advise that you should seek the doctor quickly. Quite unfortunate that many of us including myself will be tempted to ignore all these signs thinking it is just casual stress or tiredness.
When it also comes to the causes of low oxygen in the blood, there are a whole lot of reasons that can lead to that. Most of the time, Lung diseases Like all those asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and COVID-19 can lead to low oxygen level in the blood. Not only that, if you have heart problems, blocked airways and sleep problems, all of these things can actually lead to you experiencing low oxygen levels in your blood.
As I conclude, let me briefly talk about why low oxygen is very dangerous. Many of us did not know that oxygen helps our body produce energy. When there is not enough, organs begin to fail. Take for example our brain, the brain can become damaged and lead to memory loss or even coma. Not even limited to that, the heart can stop working properly. And the dangerous thing is If left untreated for long, low oxygen levels can cause death.
That is why, the earlier we notice those symptoms in our body and the earlier we begin to tackle them, the better it will be for you.
