I would like to raise such a global issue - ocean pollution.
It is used as a garbage dump, as if the garbage from there somewhere will disappear miraculously. But he stays there. And every year more and more. This is a catastrophe for our planet for all who live on it. The catastrophe that we ignore as if it is something far from us and not important. But we need to open our eyes right now. And the main thing is to understand that each of us is involved in this catastrophe. But more about everything.
The worst problem of ocean pollution is, of course, plastic waste.
It is found everywhere: both in the depths of the oceans and on the surface.
On the surface, it's even worse. Plastic waste is collected in heaps, even in entire islands, marine life is constantly entangled and killed in these heaps, these heaps pollute the water, fish feed on this plastic waste, which we then eat.
This is a cycle of harm to everyone, which we are not aware of.
Although programs have been actively conducted to combat this problem for a long time: banning the use of a certain type of plastic, organizing garbage collection from the ocean and coast, but this will not help until we consciously reduce the production and use of plastic in general.
Here are some tips on how each of you can reduce your plastic consumption:
Sort waste and recycle.
Reuse or discard bags, plastic packaging, bottles and other things as much as possible.
Go to a cafe with your cup, ask to make you coffee in a cup and not in a glass, and do not take a straw.
On a picnic, take your own dishes and do not buy disposable ones.
Wherever it is possible to buy a product not in plastic packaging, but in paper / or can put it in your fabric bag, which are now actively sold by all eco stores, choose this option.
There are also wooden toothbrushes and wooden ear sticks.
Now you can store everything in electronic form, there is no longer such a need for disks and flash drives.
Take part in voluntary cleaning of the territory, volunteer in this direction.
And tell others.
This should become a useful habit, a lifestyle for each of us.
