The first hybrid quantum supercomputer

Japan, which was once synonymous with technology, has been a bit behind in recent years, however, this seems to be changing, the Asian country has just activated a hybrid quantum supercomputer, called Reimei, this 20-cubit quantum computer has been integrated with Fugaku, the sixth fastest supercomputer on the planet.
This fusion of technologies combining a traditional supercomputer with a quantum one promises to accelerate calculations that would take millions of years to solve, unlike most quantum computers that use superconducting qubits. Reimei relies on trapped ion qubits, which offers significant advantages, greater stability and control. Trapped ion qubits are less susceptible to external interference, longer coherence times, qubits maintain their state for longer allowing more precise calculations and improved connectivity, this technology makes more sophisticated interactions between the qubits.

Fugaku is an extremely powerful traditional supercomputer, but it even has computational limits when faced with extremely complex calculations. The solution is to integrate a hybrid system that combines the speed of traditional computing with the power of quantum mechanics. The goal is to create a machine capable of solving problems in physics, chemistry and artificial intelligence with efficiency never seen before.
