Some random musings, but I have thought about this number for many years.
It might all be just coincidence of course, but is there something special about the number 23?. I first started thinking about this number many years ago when I was preparing for my post graduation exams and realised that :
1. The Earth's axial tilt is around 23°
On Wiki, regarding axial tilt, it says:
In astronomy, axial tilt, also known as obliquity, is the angle between an object's rotational axis and its orbital axis, or, equivalently, the angle between its equatorial plane and orbital plane.
2. Angle between orbital and visual axis in the human eyeball
is around 23° again.
And after I had posted this on Facebook that time, my friends also posted in the comments section that
3. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes
Of course, I know this but that time, I was absorbed in the angles of the eye and Earth and what a coincidence it must be that those 2 angles should almost be identical.
4. My roll number in school used to be 23 in many grades 🤣
Maybe insignificant, but very significant for me 😂
Anyway, I had to post this here since the group has people from multiple disciplines. Has anybody else found any significance regarding this number?
I am quite sure the mathematicians here can throw a bunch of not-so-common information about the number 23. It is a prime number, that's all I know I guess, mathematically speaking.
For anybody who thought this post was a waste of time, please take it with a pinch of salt and maybe consider this a joke/meme post. Others are welcome to share your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
