This is yet another instance in which the genius of science have surpassed expectations and began affecting nature.
The control of the weather was something that was always presumed possible with the use of magic before but now, it's been done and is in practice.
Now Rain falls according to some countries will and well, the science behind it is simply mind-blowing 🤯
The Art of Cloud Seeding
Now the idea of man-made rainfall has been a subject of discussion in the science world for quite some time, some experiments and theories spanning through different decades have been carried out on the topic and just recently a country has finally done it.
Experiments on Cloud seeding or Artificial Rain in the United Arab Emirates has been in practice since the late 1990's, as one of the first Middle Eastern Countries that had began using this technique.
The government were thrilled with such an idea and poured a lot of money into it even going as far as creating a research program called the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Sciences in the year 2015.
The major encouragement factor was the hope that they can overcome their environmental handicap as it was clear that the region needed a lot of water to help in the hike of tourists and inflation's coming in.
In 2010, the cloud seeding project became a certified project by weather authorities which was made for the purpose of bringing artificial rain. Gratefully, the project which began in the July of 2010 and cost $11 million USD, succeeded in creating rainstorms in the Abu Dhabi and Dubai deserts 🌧️.
How It's Done.
As the augmentation of rainfall focuses mostly on convective clouds, the UAE uses an operational aircraft based and drone controlled hygroscopic cloud seeding method instead of the randomized aircraft seeding method, since the latter doesn't take note of the varying proportions of rain clouds available in a dusty and arid environment.
The method perfected and that has been in use since 2021 is to use sensor devices that re equipped with electric charge emission instruments which fly a low altitudes and deliver electric charges to air molecules.
Then the hygroscopic planes fly into the clouds and release flares which eacts with the natural salts in the atmosphere (example potassium and sodium chloride ) thus enhancing the natural rain particles and causing a collision coalescence process.

The Environmental Effects
Now surely the increase of water is always good for a community and country as it helps in farmlife, growing of foods and general wellbeing.
Yet it's almost general knowledge that the tweaking of nature in such a grand scale as this is sure to have some unfavourable longtime effects on the land.
- Overstraining of the clouds in the general area
- Killing of wildlife already accustomed to the lack of moisture in the area
- Flooding as the countries drains and soil aren't compatible for increase in rainfall.
- Effects of the use of salts in the atmosphere and the environmental fingerprints it may leave.
These are just a few of the consequences the country faces or would have to face in later times.
All in all, the ability to squeeze the clouds for an extra bump in annual rainfall is a new one, there's still room for improvement.
