Cela fait longtemps que je ne vous ai pas fait changer d'air en voyageant, il est grand temps d'y remédier 😉
Nous voici donc parti pour le weekend pour Khao Lak qui se trouve à 120 kilomètres (soit 2 heures de route) au nord de Phuket dans la magnifique province de Phang Nga. Il y a en ce moment une exhibition de mini-mongolfière là-bas et cette ville balnéaire sur la mer Andaman semble enfin reprendre des couleurs grâce au retour des touristes.
Comme avec ma femme et mon plus jeune fils (le grand lui est resté étant actuellement en stage) nous sommes partie de bonne heure, nous avons décidé avant d'aller faire le check-in au resort d'aller visiter la chute d'eau au park national de Ton Chong Fa situé à 10 kilomètres du resort.
It's been a long time since I've given you fresh air while traveling, it's really time to remedy that. 😉
So here we are, on our way to Khao Lak for the weekend which is located 120 kilometers (2 hours drive) north of Phuket in the beautiful province of Phang Nga. There is currently a mini air balloon exhibition there and this seaside town on the Andaman Sea finally seems to be coming back to life thanks to the return of tourists.
As with my wife and my youngest son (the older one stayed behind as he is currently on an internship) we left early, we decided before going to check-in at the resort to visit the waterfall at Ton Chong Fa National Park located 10 kilometers from the resort.
C'est là ou je me rends compte que je n'ai plus 20 ans hahaha, déjà la monté à pied je l'ai bien senti mais il à fallu en plus, je ne sais pour qu'elle raison, si ce n'est ma maladresse, que j'aille embrasser très vigoureusement un bon gros rocher bien dur hahaha, heureusement rien de cassé et plus de peur que de mal malgré être tombé à plat, je m'en suis sortie avec des douleurs intercostales, un petit hématome sous la machoire et sur une joue, un doigt de la main qui tenait l'appareil photo un peu bleu et refusant de plier complètement et enfin le bout en plastique de mon objectif fissuré au niveau de la bague.
That's when I realize that I'm not 20 anymore 🤣 the climb on foot was already hard, but it was necessary in addition, I don't know for which reason, if it is not my clumsiness, that I go to kiss very vigorously a good big hard rock 😅 , luckily nothing was broken and more fear than harm despite falling flat. I came out of it with intercostal pain, a small hematoma under the jaw and on one cheek, a finger of the hand that held the camera a little blue and refusing to bend completely and finally the plastic end of my lens cracked at the ring.
Du coup j'ai lachement abandonné ma femme qui à décidé de continuer l'exploration un peu plus haut de la chute d'eau et je suis retourné à la voiture avec mon fils pour m'adonner à une activité moins riqué tel que le survol en drone du park. Du moins c'est ce que je croyais, jusqu'au moment où après avoir décollé un gentil garde forestier est venu me dire que c'était totalement interdit LOL.
So I lazily abandoned my wife who decided to continue the exploration a little higher up the waterfall and I went back to the car with my son to enjoy a less risky activity such as a drone flight over the park. At least that's what I thought, until after I took off a friendly park ranger came and told me that it was totally forbidden. 😮
Malgré mes mésaventures je recommende chaudement ce parc national si vous êtes dans le coin car il est vraiment magnifique et on y fait de belles rencontres, sur le chemin du retour j'ai longuement discuté avec un touriste allemand parlant un français impeccable.
Il était presque 14H, l'heure du check-in, lorsque nous avons repris la route pour le resort.
Despite my misadventures, I warmly recommend this national park if you are in the area, it's really a wonderful place and you can make great encounters. On the way back to my car I talked for a long time with a German tourist speaking in perfect French without any accent.
It was almost 2 pm (time to check-in) when we took the road to the resort.
La Vela Khao Lak resort est à la fois impressionant par sa taille mais également magnifique, en plus la chambre deluxe de 54m2 avec vu piscine pour seulement 100 euros (2 adultes + 1 enfant) avec le petit déjeuner inclu ça le fait.
Bientôt 17 heures, l'heure d'aller au jardin pour cette fameuse exhibition de mini-mongolfières. J'avoue très honnêtement que l'on se serait cru à une convention d'instagrameuses et instagrameurs Hahaha.
La Vela Khao Lak resort is both impressive by its size but also amazing, and the deluxe room of 54sqm with pool view for only 100 euros (2 adults + 1 child) and breakfast included it's perfect.
Soon 5 pm, time to go to the garden for the mini air balloon show. I admit very sincerely that we would have thought we were at a convention of Instagrammers. 😂
La faim commençant à se faire sentir nous avons décidé d'aller dinner au restaurant du resort avec vu sur la plage nous permettant d'assister une nouvelle fois à un magnifique couché de soleil sur la mer Andaman.
Une fois notre dinner engloutis nous sommes repartis voir les mini-mongolfières.
The hunger starting to be felt so we decided to go to dinner at the restaurant of the resort with sight on the beach allowing us to attend once again an amazing sunset on the Andaman Sea.
Once we had eaten our dinner, we went back to see the mini air balloons.
Réveillé de bonne heure dimanche matin je me suis dit que l'heure était idéal pour une petite ballade au bord de la mer, je pris donc mes affaires et me rendis sur la plage du resort, effectivement il n'y avait quasiment personne.
I woke up early on Sunday morning and thought that it was the ideal time for a little walk by the sea, so I took my things and went to the beach of the resort, indeed there was almost nobody.
Ayant pris mon drone j'en ai profité pour faire un survol du resort que vous pouvez-voir dans la vidéo que j'ai fait de ce petit weekend très sympa à Khao Lak ci-dessous.
Having taken my drone, I took the opportunity to fly over the resort which you can see in the video I made of this very great weekend in Khao Lak above.
Après avoir petit déjeuner et profiter autant que possible du resort il fut malheureusement presque midi, l'heure du check-out. Nous avons donc pris la route du retour vers Phuket.
After having breakfast and enjoying the resort as much as possible, it was unfortunately almost noon, time for check-out. So we took the road back to Phuket.
Tout en faisant une petite halte au temple Wat Tha Sai que j'avais repéré sur la carte car il se trouve en bord de mer et je voulais le voir, bien m'en a pris car il est vraiment très beau.
Et c'est ainsi que c'est achevé ce magnifique petit weekend, en espèrant que celui-ci vous aura fait voyager un peu. 😊
While making a small stop at the Wat Tha Sai temple that I had spotted on the map because it is on the seaside and I wanted to see it, good for me because it is really very wonderful.
