"Hace muchos años, entre todo aquello que se decía, existieron personas que afirmaban conocer o haberse topado con personas cuya naturaleza no parecía ser de este mundo; no eran los conocidos lobos o vampiros de la época, sino algo más allá, algo conocido por pocos, pero quienes lo experimentaban quedaban al borde de la locura y, más allá incluso, afirmaban que quedaban sin su propia alma…".
"Tú… tú eres…".
Con un rápido pero suave gesto, el profesor, bloqueando con un dedo lo que diría Clara y acercándose casi al punto de sentir ambas respiraciones, dijo casi susurrando:
"No creo que sea al momento, señorita Clara; parece no sentirse bien". "Mejor venga y siéntese".
Decía mientras aquella mirada entre preocupación y miedo parecía estar luchando con aquel brillo que siempre mostraba, y mientras Clara parecía estar aún sumergida en aquella sensación que no comprendía; casi en automático seguía a aquel profesor hasta que estuvo sentada y él se cerciorara de que no tenía alguna herida.
"¿Qué fue eso? "¿Qué eran esas imágenes y usted…?" Decía ella con una voz algo temblorosa, confusa, incluso algo enojada, así como una mirada algo perdida que trataba entre la nada de encontrar algún punto de coherencia con todo.
"A veces es mejor dejar las cosas como están, ¿no cree?", de espaldas a ella, decía él, algo distante.
"¿Qué? "No, no, no, ¡usted dijo que me diría todo!" La calma que había parecido llegar se estaba desvaneciendo de nuevo en Clara, quien, agitada, comenzaba a pedir que le contaran qué pasaba y, a la vez, casi a la par, una sensación de desgarro en su pecho aparecía con una imagen que más bien parecía un recuerdo.
Era el pero no solo era distinto de apariencia de nuevo, sino que parecía estar al borde de la muerte y con una mano señalándola mientras, por más que trataba, no lograba moverse; solo podía contemplar eso una y otra vez.
"AAAaag" —un grito ahogado salió desde lo más profundo de Clara, quien parecía estar sintiendo algo con lo que no podía, pero de nuevo todo pareció haber entrado en calma. Él había logrado calmar la desesperación de Clara con una sola acción, aunque estuvo vacilante y con mucha duda si realmente hacerlo, pero el impulso había podido más con él.
Y esa acción no había sido otra más que un beso, un suave beso que se pudo haber visualizado como algo tierno, pero la verdad iba más allá. Durante ese pequeño pero conciso beso, algo no solo despertó en Clara, sino que en el algo recobraba vida de nuevo mientras una lágrima rodaba por la mejilla de ella, dejándose caer en un desmayo profundo mientras solo podía escuchar un susurro disfrazado de recuerdo que decía: "Esmeralda, juro esperarte toda la vida".
"Dos jóvenes alegres caminaban tomados de la mano bajo la luz de la luna; ella tan sonriente y aventurera y él tan tímido y recatado, parecían estar como cómplices audaces de un amor prohibido, mientras que con el gesto de dar una flor la comparaba con la dulzura puesta en sus ojos rojos carmesí, y acercándose, lo que sería un beso en señal de afecto se convertiría en una vil mordida directo al cuello terso de ella".
Un brinco de golpe hizo despertar a una Clara sobreexaltada y algo desorientada, buscando con la mirada dónde se encontraba y, a medida que reconocía el lugar, parecía un más preguntarse qué pasaba, ya que parecía encontrarse en su habitación. Bajando a la sala, algo desorientada, se topó con su madre, quien, preocupada, se acercó a ella para ver si estaba bien.
"Clara, hija, ¿estás bien?", decía su madre mientras tomaba su mano y con la otra checaba su temperatura.
"Sí, mamá, solo me duele algo la cabeza…" ¿Pero qué pasó?
"Pues parece ser que te desmayaste porque te sentías mal y te trajeron a casa. Me preocupé mucho, hija; estuviste inconsciente mucho tiempo".
"¿Quién me trajo, mamá?" —preguntó Clara.
"Tu profesor, hija, fue muy amable; te cargó hasta tu habitación y se aseguró de que estuvieras bien..." No sabía que contabas con personas tan buenas".
"Mi... mi pro... profesor..." Casi por instinto, Clara fue a su cuarto corriendo y, al entrar y cerrar la puerta, se desplomó totalmente ruborizada, pensando en cómo él y por qué él habían tenido que cargarla a su habitación. De pronto pensó que tal vez le había dejado algún mensaje; después de todo tendría que agradecerle.
Ella esperaba alguna nota con su letra; era totalmente lo que ella esperaba, pero en cambio allí estaba de nuevo otra hoja de ese diario colocada con cuidado en sus cosas. Clara la tomó en sus manos para leerla, sintiendo algo de nerviosismo con lo que tendría esta vez escrito.
"Querido diario: la promesa de nuestro pacto, más allá de traer alegría, ha sido un sinfín de caos para los que queremos simplemente estar juntos. Mi familia no acepta y se niega; incluso exorcizarme para ellos es una opción, incluso encerrarme, todo con tal de alejarme de ella, pero soy fiel a mi corazón y a sus ojos carmesí y espero con ansias verla y pedirle unirme a su raza, pero soy consciente de que también represento un gran peligro para ella… No sé qué hacer ".
Leer esa hoja hizo que Clara recordara lo sucedido en esa sala de laboratorio, esos recuerdos y en ese beso que, más que ayudarla a calmar, la había hecho sentir que simplemente tenía algo que descubrir, y sin dudar lo iba a hacer.

Hola a todos, como cada semana, acá está la continuación del relato que he estado trayendo para ustedes. Debo admitir que esta parte en sí fue un poco menos elaborada para mí, pues aún no quiero revelar tantos detalles, pero igual espero que esté siendo de su agrado y, sin más, muchas gracias por leer este post.

He said it while that look of concern and fear seemed to be struggling with that glow he always displayed, and while Clara seemed to be still immersed in that feeling she didn't understand; almost automatically, she followed that professor until she was seated and he made sure she wasn't hurt.
"What was that? What were those images, and you...?" she said in a somewhat shaky, confused, even somewhat angry voice, as well as a somewhat lost gaze that tried in the void to find some point of coherence in everything.
"Sometimes it's better to leave things as they are, don't you think?" He said with his back to her, somewhat distant.
"What? No, no, no, you said you'd tell me everything!" The calm that had seemed to arrive was fading again in Clara, who, agitated, began to demand to be told what was happening and, at the same time, almost simultaneously, a tearing sensation in her chest appeared with an image that seemed more like a memory.
It was the same, but not only was she different in appearance again, but she seemed to be on the verge of death, with a hand pointing at her while, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move; she could only stare at that again and again.
"AAAaag"—a stifled cry came from deep within Clara, who seemed to be feeling something she couldn't handle, but once again everything seemed to have calmed down. He had managed to calm Clara's despair with a single action, although he hesitated and doubted whether to actually do it, but the impulse had won.
And that action had been nothing more than a kiss, a gentle kiss that could have been visualized as something tender, but the truth went deeper. During that small but concise kiss, something not only awakened in Clara, but something in him came alive again as a tear rolled down her cheek, allowing herself to fall into a deep swoon, all she could hear being whispered, disguised as a memory, that said: "Esmeralda, I swear to wait for you all my life."
"Two cheerful young people walked hand in hand under the moonlight; she, so smiling and adventurous, and he, so shy and demure, they seemed like bold accomplices in a forbidden love. While with the gesture of giving a flower, he compared it to the sweetness in her crimson eyes. And as he drew closer, what was supposed to be a kiss of affection would turn into a vile bite straight to her smooth neck."
A sudden jump woke an overexcited and somewhat disoriented Clara. She looked around, searching for where she was. As she recognized the place, she seemed to be wondering what was happening, since she seemed to be in her room. Going down to the living room, somewhat disoriented, she ran into her mother, who, worried, approached her to see if she was okay.
"Clara, honey, are you okay?" her mother said, taking her hand and checking her temperature with the other.
"Yes, Mom, I just have a slight headache..." But what happened?
"Well, it seems you fainted because you were feeling ill, and they brought you home. I was very worried, honey; you were unconscious for a long time."
"Who brought me, Mom?" Clara asked.
"Your teacher, daughter, was very kind; he carried you to your room and made sure you were okay..." I didn't know you had such good people."
"My... my pro... teacher..." Almost instinctively, Clara ran to her room, and as she entered and closed the door, she collapsed, blushing, thinking about how and why he had had to carry her to her room. She suddenly thought that maybe he had left her a message; after all, she would have to thank him.
She had expected a note in his handwriting; it was exactly what she had expected, but instead, there was another page from that diary, carefully placed among her things. Clara took it in her hands to read it, feeling a little nervous about what it would have written this time.
"Dear diary: The promise of our pact, beyond bringing joy, has been an endless chaos for those of us who simply want to be together. My family doesn't accept it and refuses; Even exorcising me is an option for them, even locking me away, all to get away from her, but I am faithful to my heart and her crimson eyes, and I eagerly await to see her and ask her to join her race, but I am aware that I also represent a great danger to her… I don't know what to do."
Reading that sheet of paper made Clara remember what happened in that lab room, those memories, and that kiss that, more than helping calm her down, had made her feel like she simply had something to discover, and without hesitation, she was going to do it.
