Something like that happened with Grisa, a peculiar cat that came into our lives in the middle of the year 2021. When Grisa started visiting us, our cat, Ro, was just a few months old. Although at first the idea of adopting her did not cross our minds, little by little we did it, since we liked her way of being, becoming our second cat. Currently, we have three, although I will tell you about the third one in another publication.

Algo así sucedió con Grisa, una peculiar gata que llegó a nustras vidas a mediados del año 2021. Cuando Grisa empezó a visitarnos, nustro gato, Ro, tenía unos pocos meses de edad. Aunque en un principio no se nos cruzó la idea de adoptarla, poco a poco lo hicimos, ya que nos gustó su forma de ser, convirtiéndose en nuestro segundo gato. Like any stray cat, she would sneak noiselessly through the roof of our house, looking for scraps of food we fed our dog, Tyriom, our cat Ro, and scraps of food my dad occasionally left on the roof for the birds to feed on. She would shy away from us as soon as we approached her, even growling. However, little by little and through the days, we were able to get closer and closer, to the point that I was able to take pictures of her, in which she seemed to pose.

Como todo gato callejero, llegaba sigilosamente y sin hacer ruido a través del techo de nuestra casa, buscando los restos de comida que le dábamos a nuestro perro, Tyriom, a nuestro gato Ro, y restos de comida que ocasionalmente mi papá dejaba en el techo para que los pájaros se alimentacen. Se alejaba de nosotros a penas nos acercábamos a ella, llegando incluso a gruñir. Sin embargo, poco a poco y a través de los días, podíamos acercarnos más y más, al punto de que pude tomarle fotografías, en las que ella parecía posar.

I had to be careful, as you can easily tell she is a cat with somewhat feral features. On the other hand, I must say that there was something that really caught our attention about her: every day she visited us practically at the same time, very punctually, wanting us to give her food.

La distancia entre la gata y nosotros se fue acortando, al punto de que podía montarme en una escalera y acercarme a ella lo suficiente para acariciarla, pero aún seguía habiendo mucha cautela entre ella y nosotros. Debia tener cuidado, ya que puedes notar fácilmente que es una gata con rasgos algo salvajes. Por otro lado, debo decir que había algo que nos llamaba mucho la atención de ella: todos los días nos visitaba prácticamente a la misma hora, con mucha puntualidad, deseando que le diéramos comida.
Despite being a stray cat, we were really surprised and pleased by her cordial and subtle way of arriving and asking for food, meowing gently and without making much noise. I should point out that, until then, we thought she was a male cat. We called him Gris and not Grisa. Of course, we couldn't tell at the time, as we were not yet confident enough to get up close and personal with her. It didn't take long for her to get closer to us and start being inside the house.
A pesar de ser una gata callejera, realmente nos sorprendió y agradó su manera cordial y sutil de llegar y pedir comida, maullando gentilmente y sin hacer mucho ruido. Debo destacar que, hasta ese entonces, pensábamos que se trataba de un gato macho. Le decíamos Gris y no Grisa. Por supuesto, no podíamos notarlo en ese entonces, ya que aún no había la confianza suficiente para acercarnos y conocerla más. No pasó mucho tiempo para que ella se acercara más a nosotros y empezara a estar adentro de la casa.
She's no longer a stray cat
This cat is very peculiar and to this day she is still a mystery to us. We don't know where she came from or if she had previous owners. Although she is practically adopted by us, she gets a little stiff when we carry her, although we rule out that she might be in pain. We came to the conclusion that she is like that, a wild cat and at the same time very decent. We also suspect that she had a previous owner who mistreated her, as she gets a little upset when she sees a broom, and in certain situations she gets scared.

Esta gata es muy peculiar y al día de hoy sigue siendo un mistero para nosotros. No sabemos de donde vino o si tuvo dueños anteriores. A pesar de que es prácticamente adoptada por nosotros, se pone un poco rígida cuando la cargamos, aunque descartamos que pueda tener algún dolor. Llegamos a la conclusión de que ella es así, una gata salvaje y a la vez muy decente. También sospechamos que tuvo algún dueño anterior que la maltrataba, ya que se altera un poco cuando ve una escoba, y en determinadas situaciones se asusta.
When she was gradually being adopted by us, she still used to go outside and, besides hunting, she had certain violent encounters with a yellow cat that at that time "dominated" the area. Grisa had no romantic interest in
him but rather they used to have fierce fights every time they met. We assume that the wound she now has on her right ear was the result of a fight with the yellow cat. Nowadays, although Grisa occasionally goes outside, she rarely gets involved in fights, partly because that yellow cat has become old and a bit sick.

Actualmente, aunque Grisa sale ocasionalmete a la calle, se involucra muy poco en peleas, en parte porque ese gato amarillo se ha vuelto viejo y un poco enfermo.

Grisa has hunted various animals and brought them into the house, including mice, birds and small lizards. However, her wild side came out when one day she brought an iguana in her teeth, which fortunately we were able to save.
