So I bring you a story of how my kitten Eliot came into my life.

Hoy quería traerles algo distinto para leer, algo que sin duda es parte de mi escencia, y es mi amor por los gatos y que sin duda son mis animales favoritos (además de otros claro) pero si me ponen a elegir entre gato y perro como mi nueva mascota sin duda primero un gato. Así que les traigo una historia de como mi gatito Eliot llegó a mi vida.
Almost every day in my country there is “electricity rationing” and in mid-2020 they cut off the electricity a lot and although it left at any time, most of the time they took it away at night, so I would go to the corner of the third block of my urbanization with my group of friends to wait for it to arrive. Between laughter, many anecdotes and gossip, it was easier for us to endure 5 to 6 without electricity. But one of those nights, a friend noticed that there was a small black lump on the sidewalk and that they were almost stepping on it, when everyone shone with their flashlights on the phone, we saw that it was a small black kitten, we calculated that it was at least weeks old because it still had remains of its umbilical cord, Obviously when I see it I break into tenderness and start caressing and carrying it, that night it was very cold, so I put it inside my sweater so it would be warm.
Casi todos los días en mi país hay "racionamiento de luz" y a mediados del 2020 cortaban mucho la electricidad y si bien se iba a cualquier hora, la mayoría de veces nos la quitaban en la noche, por lo que me iba a la esquina de la tercera cuadra de mi urbanización con mi grupo de amigos para esperara que nos llegará, entre risas, cuántos, anécdotas y chismes se nos hacía más fácil soportar de 5 a 6 sin electricidad. Pero un noche de esas, un amigo se fija que había un pequeño bulto negro en la acera y que casi lo iban pisando, cuando todos alumbraron con sus linternas del teléfono, vimos que era un gatito negro pequeño, le pusimos calcular que tenía al menos semanas de haber nacido porque aún tenía restos de su cordón umbilical, obviamente que yo cuando lo veo rompo en ternura y lo empiezo a acariciar y cargarlo, esa noche había mucho frío así que lo metí dentro de mi sueter para que estuviera calientito.
When everyone saw my affection for it, they began to insist that I adopt it, that if I wasn't the one who took it, it was going to stay alone there because no one wants a cat, only me, to force me even more to take it away, they helped me and brought me a box to give it a little water and cat food. Since it was very skinny and hadn't eaten anything, besides that they began to tell me to give it a name, that it was already mine, I was a little hesitant because I knew that if I brought that cat to the house my mom would get upset, but I couldn't leave that helpless little boy there, Well, without thinking about it anymore and impulsively I brought it, I sneaked it into the house, but my mom realized it hahaha, in the end she saw it and told me that I was crazy, but in the end she did let it stay. It got very beautiful and big, It slept with me and it was very clean.
Al ver que todos veían mi cariño por el me empezaron a insistir para que lo adoptará, que si no era yo quien me lo llevará el se iba a quedar solo ahí porque más ninguno quiera un gato, solo yo, para obligarme aún más a llevármelo me ayudaron y me trajeron un caja para meterlo un poquito de agua y comida para gatos, ya que estaba muy flaquito y no había comido nada, además de eso me empezaron a decir que le pusiera un nombre, que ya era mío, Yo estaba un poco indecisa ya que yo sabía que si traía a ese gato a la casa mi mamá se molestaría, pero no podía dejarlo ahi a ese pequeñito indefenso, pues sin más que pesar e impulsivamente me lo traje , lo metí a escondidas a la casa pero mi mamá se dió cuenta jajaja, al final lo vio y me dijo que si estaba loca, pero al final si dejo quedarme lo. Se puso muy hermoso y grande, dormía conmigo y era muy limpio.
That's how my life began with my new pet, Eliot the cutest and most affectionate cat, about 1 year ago I had to give it away because as it is male it is very territorial and fought a lot with other cats, it urinated on the furniture to mark territory and scratched the furniture, my mom start disliking that, but I looked for a way to cut its nails and thus prevent it from damaging the furniture, but that was not enough, since I have a sister who does not like animals and fewer cats and demanded my mom to throw it away, obviously I opposed that, but one day my cat became very violent and scratched my 2-year-old nephew and well you know how my sister got, and then my mom told me that “Enough!!!”, that Eliot should go, between tears I accepted, but I told her that at least we should find him a house where they would love it and give it the love it deserved.
Así comenzó mi vida con mi nueva mascota, Eliot el gato más lindo y cariñoso, hace aproximadamente 1 año tuve que regalarlo ya que como es macho es muy territorial y se peleaba mucho con otros gatos, orinaba los muebles para marcar territorio y rajuñaba los muebles, eso a mi mamá no le empezó a gustar, pero busque un modo para cortarles las uñas y así evitar que dañará los muebles pero eso no fue suficiente, ya que tengo una hermana que no le gustan los animales y menos los gatos y le exigía a mi mamá que lo botara, obviamente yo me oponía eso, pero un día mi gato se puso como muy violento y aruño a mi sobrino de 2 años y bueno sabrán cómo se puso mi hermana , y ahí mi mamá me dijo que ya, que Eliot se debía de ir, entre lágrimas acepte, pero le dije que por lo menos le buscaramos un casa donde lo quisieran y le fueran a dar el cariño que se merecía.
We got in touch with a lady who is also an animal lover and in her house they have a kind of shelter, we agreed to meet in the Sambil to deliver my cat son, that moment was the saddest of my life since being separated from a pet is hearth breaking and more so when you rescued it since it was little. The lady left, and more tears came as I saw my kitten Eliot leave. I had the lady's phone number, so I wrote to her after a month, as I didn't want to be too insistent and write her too much to find out how Eliot was doing and to know if it had adapted to its new home, but then my heart broke in two because she told me that on the third day of there it had escaped, and she didn't find it, she was very sorry.
Nos pusimos en contacto con una señora quien es amante de los animales también y en su casa tienen una especie de refugio, nos pusimos de cuerdo para encontrar en el sambil para entregarle a mi hijo gatuno, ese momento fue el mas triste de mi vida ya que separarse de una mascota no es y más cuando lo rescataste desde chiquito. La señora se fue y entras más lágrimas ví partir a mi gatito Eliot. Yo tenía el número de teléfono de la señora, así que le escribí después de un mes, ya que no quería ser muy insistente y escribirle mucho como para saber cómo estaba Eliot y saber si se había adaptado a su nuevo hogar, pero ahí el corazón se me rompió en dos ya que me dijo que al tercer día de ahí se se le había escapado y no lo consiguió, que lo lamentaba mucho y la disculpara.
Nowadays I regret not having done more for my Eliot, but wherever it is at this moment I hope it is happy, that it forgives me and that it will always be my beloved Eliot.
Hoy en día me melanto de no haber hecho más por mi Eliot, pero sea en dónde quiera que esté en este momento espero este feliz, que me perdone y que siempre será mi Eliot amado.
