Si eres conocedor de la economía de mi país, también sabrás que la manutención de nuestros queridos miembros caninos y gatunos es costosa, tanto en la parte veterinaria como en la alimenticia y si hablamos de la estética más aún.
Pero hoy sólo les contaré de cómo alimento a Fiufiu, a Chloe, a Nala y a Negris. Así que si te interesa sigue leyendo. Comencemos.

When Chloe came into our lives, we had recently lost Toky. Many times we think that she died due to poor nutrition and little care for her, since she gave her food that she prepared for our consumption.
On her last visit to the vet, the doctor who treated us asked what we were feeding her and when we told her, she called our attention, because we should not give our pets food that contains salt, garlic, onion, chili peppers and other foods. which are toxic to them.
Desde hace algunos años, en Venezuela los alimentos de las mascotas han alcanzado un aumento del 200% entre 2018 al 2023, lo que ha ocasionado que las personas de recursos limitados recurramos a la preparación casera de los alimentos.
Cuando Chloe llegó a nuestras vidas, recientemente habíamos perdido a Toky. Muchas veces pensamos que murió por la mala alimentación y poco cuido, ya que le dábamos alimentos de los que preparaba para nuestro consumo.
En su última visita al veterinario, la médico que nos atendió preguntó qué le dábamos de comida y cuando le contamos nos hizo un llamado de atención, porque no debemos suministrarle a nuestras mascotas, alimentos que contengan sal, ajos, cebolla, ajíes y otros alimentos que son tóxicos para ellos.

Even incorporating small amounts into homemade food, the rejection was resounding. We couldn't get him to consume it, so we gave up.
The same thing happened with Nala, there was a time when she got very skinny and she didn't want to eat anything and my daughter bought her a bag of gatarina that we had to give her away because she didn't want it either.

El suministro de perrarina y gatarina fue por muy poco tiempo, ya que Chloe rechazó por completo esta comida, le desagradaba tanto el olor que apenas de acercaba y le daba náuseas. Aun incorporando en pequeñas cantidades a la comida casera, el rechazo era rotundo. No logramos que la consumiera, así que desistimos.
De igual manera sucedió con Nala, hubo un tiempo que se puso muy flaca y no quería comer nada y mi hija le compró una bolsa de gatarina que tuvimos que regalarla porque tampoco la quiso.

Most of the time, this meal has rice and carrots, but we vary the flavors. Sometimes he brings fresh sardines, just bought and well cleaned. Roast beef, which contains liver, heart, kidney and bofe, and others like the one I show you today, with chicken gizzards and chicken liver. Sometimes I add chicken legs. This recipe yields to prepare three times without including the rice that we add when it is going to be prepared and they eat two days, the day it is prepared and the next day, so it does not spend much time in the refrigerator.
I prepare 1000 gr of chicken gizzards and 500 gr of beef liver, 3 well washed and grated carrots with their shells and 500 gr of rice, for each preparation. Since this amount of protein is provided for 3 meals.
Desde ese entonces se les proporcionamos una alimentación que tratamos que sea lo más sana posible variando constantemente los ingredientes para que no se aburran, ya que también nos ha sucedido que cuando le damos lo mismo muy seguido no quieren comerlo. Bueno, en realidad esto sucede con Fiufiu, que es algo pretencioso con la comida.
La mayoría de las veces, esta comida lleva arroz y zanahoria, pero le variamos los sabores. Algunas veces lleva sardinas frescas, recién compradas y bien limpias. Asadura de res, que contiene hígado, corazón, riñón y bofe, y otras como la que les muestro hoy, con mollejas de pollo e hígado de pollo, En algunas ocasiones le coloco patas de pollo. Esta receta rinde para preparar tres veces sin incluir el arroz que se lo incorporamos cuando se vaya a preparar y comen dos días, el día que se le prepara y el día siguiente, así no pasa mucho tiempo en el refrigerador.
Preparo 1000 gr de mollejas de pollo y 500 gr de hígado de res, 3 zanahorias bien lavadas y ralladas con su concha y 500 gr de arroz, para cada preparación. Ya que esta cantidad de proteinas la procionamos para 3 comidas.

Then I take a portion and cook them with 500 gr of rice and let them cook until the rice is very soft, and the gizzards and the liver almost fall apart, so that they do not suffer in the digestion process, since the stomach of the dogs and cats do not process food in the same way as humans, which is why we must cook them as soft as possible.
Cuando compramos los hígados y las mollejas, éstos vienen con la hiel en el hígado y las mollejas traen una parte bien dura pegada, que sería como las paredes del estomago del pollo, estas cosas son retiradas cuando las limpio porque la hiel les da un sabor amargo a la comida y la piel de la molleja es muy dura, no se desintegra. Una vez que están limpias las mollejas las coloco en una olla de presión para ablandarlas y luego las pico y las uno con el hígado de pollo ya cosido y las zanahorias ralladas y divido en las tres partes, igualmente con el caldo que queda de la cocción del hígado y de las mollejas.
Luego tomo una porción y las cocino con 500 gr de arroz y dejo cocinar hasta que el arroz quede bien blando, y las mollejas y el hígado casi pos desbaratarse, para que no sufran en el proceso de digestión, ya que el estómago de los perros y los gatos, no procesan los alimentos de igual forma que los humanos, es por ello que debemos cocinarlos lo más blando posible.

Yo disfruto alimentando a mis niños perrunos y gatunos, aunque algunas veces se ponen bien fastidiosos, sobre todo el Negrín que se vuelve loco cuado le pegan los olores, y Clhoe y Fiufiu ni se diga, no se despegan ni un momento de mi lado cuando escuchan o ven movimiento en la cocina.
Mis hijas me regañan, dicen que yo los tengo malacostumbrados porque les doy, pero ¿cómo resistirse a esos ojitos y esas patitas pidiéndote? Yo no puedo, jejejejejeje. Amo cada momento que paso con ellos.
They enjoy every gram of food. They eat twice a day. Chloe eats the most because she is always hunting for what Fiufiu leaves on her plate. That's why they eat separately because otherwise Chloe won't let anyone. It devours everything in less than 5 minutes.
At first, when Fiufiu arrived at the house, this was hard work so that they would respect each other at mealtime. Nowadays, Chloe sits patiently (hahahahahaha) and waits for Fiufiu to finish and then she eats the rest.
Ellos disfrutan cada gramo de comida. Comen dos veces al día. Chloe es la que más come porque siempre está cazando lo que deja Fiufiu en su plato. Por lo generan comen separados porque sino Chloe no le deja a ninguno. Todo lo devora en menos de 5 minutos.
Al principio, cuando Fiufiu llegó a la casa, esto fue un arduo trabajo para que se respetaran a la hora de comer. Hoy en día, Chloe se sienta pacientemente (jajajajajaja) y espera a que Fiufiu termine y después ella se come el resto.
