Hellooooo, hellooooo! My dear friends. Today I come to tell you about our experience with our kitten Nala Nacira, regarding her sexual life and her pregnancies. For three years this kitten has been part of our family. From her arrival to this day, she has revolutionized our nights because of the number of cats that come looking for her. But she had stayed distant for quite some time, in fact she surprised us that she didn't get pregnant. A little over a year ago, one early morning, Chloe woke me up with some moans and worried because I had never heard her bark like that, I went downstairs and opened the door that leads to the patio of the house and I found something like some kind of gut with blood on the floor. I didn't take it into account and went to sleep again. The next day, when I got up and opened the doors, now more clearly, a little further on where what was supposed to be a gut was, I got a kitten in full formation and that's when we found out that Nala Nacira was pregnant and had miscarried two kittens. Time passed and she became pregnant again, whether she had a good ending, two kittens, one tabby like the one we believe was the father, we already gave it up for adoption and Negrín.

¡Holaaaaaa, holaaaaa! Mis queridos amigos. Hoy les vengo a contar nuestra experiencia con nuestra gatita Nala Nacira, en cuanto a su vida sexual y sus embarazos. Desde hace tres años esta gatita forma parte de nuestra familia. Desde su llegada hasta el día de hoy ha revolucionado nuestras noches por la cantidad de gatos que vienen a buscarla. Pero ella se había mantenido distante por bastante tiempo, de hecho nos extrañaba que no quedaba preñada.
Hace un poco más de un año, una madrugada, Chloe me despertó con unos lamentos y preocupada porque nunca la había oído ladrar así, bajé y abrí la puerta que da al patio de la casa y me encontré con algo como especie de una tripa con sangre en el piso. No lo tomé e cuenta y me fui a dormir nuevamente.
Al otro día, cuando me levanté y abrí las puertas, ya con más claridad, un poco más allá donde se encontraba lo que se suponía era una tripa, conseguí un gatito en plena formación y allí fue que supimos que Nala Nacira estaba preñada y había tenido un aborto de dos gatitos.
Pasó el tiempo y nuevamente quedó preñada, esté si tuvo un buen final, dos gatitos, uno atrigrado como el que creemos era el papá, ya lo dimos en adopción y Negrín.

The question of the matter is that sterilization is expensive and our resources were not enough. So we decided to continue with the vitamins.

So 24 hours before the day of the surgery, we lock Nala in the house to make sure she doesn't run away and not miss the opportunity to operate on her and we also don't give her any food after 8:00 pm since she has to fast for a maximum of 12 hours.

She was operated on in the middle of the morning and when we got home with her we were scared because Nala was without strength, very weak. The vet had already told us that we had to keep an eye on her for 72 hours and provide her with the treatment that was based on antibiotics and analgesics and that when the effect of the anesthesia wore off not to let her exert herself or jump.
This was the hardest part of her because when she started to wake up, she was very clumsy and in her attempts to get up, she would fall and hit herself. Three days pending, although the first day was the calmest since due to the effects of the anesthesia she was very sleepy. The next two days was an odyssey. We made a kind of sash with a flannel to prevent her from hurting her wound or from being hurt by Negrín. You had to grab her from her so she wouldn't try to jump to go out into the backyard and with Negrín so she wouldn't try to suckle.
Fue intervenida a mediados de la mañana y cuando llegamos a casa con ella estábamos asustadas porque Nala estaba sin fuerzas, muy débil. Ya el veterinario nos había hablado de que teníamos que estar pendiente durante 72 horas y suministrarle el tratamiento que se basaba en antibiótico y analgésico y que cuando le pasara el efecto de la anestesia no dejarla hacer fuerzas o dar saltos.
Esta fue la parte más difícil porque cuando empezó a despertar, estaba muy torpe y en sus intentos por levantarse, se caía y golpeaba. Tres días al pendiente, aunque el primer día fue el más tranquilo ya que debido a los efectos de la anestesia estaba muy adormecida. Los dos siguientes días fue una odisea. Le hicimos una especie de faja con una franela para evitar que se lastimara la herida o que Negrín la lastimara. Había que agarrarla para que no intentara saltar para salir al patio trasero y con Negrín para que no intentara mamar.

So if we talk about the notable advantages of sterilizing Nala Nacira, I can tell you: one of them is that the persecution of cats is over, as I read it is because she no longer goes out looking for a partner and is calmer.
Another advantage is that sterilization protects it from some infectious diseases and cancer and also extends its life time. Also the coat becomes thick and shiny. Nala is radiant, and her weight recovery is well noticeable.
And the only disadvantage that I see so far is that she will not be able to have more kittens and she is at risk of developing tumors when she is old.
So if you have a kitten at home, don't hesitate to sterilize them. I recommend it to you.
