Hello, my dear Hivers! Here I am again for another blog drop. How's the start of your week been? I hope everyone remains energy-efficient as you tackle the rest of the week. By the way, the blog that I am going to share today is about our well- loved cat and her transformation from stray cat to a domestic cat real quick.
The photos above show our cat when she was still a kitten. Beside her is Mama Cat.
By the way, our Cat's name is Catrat and it's a female one. Her name was from the combination of cat + rat. We got her name from her features when she was still a kitten. Her fur and even her tail really resembles the same feature of a rat, so we thought of why not name her Catrat. She's such a feral back then and untamable. You can see it through her expression.
For context, we met Catrat and Mama cat in the previous house we rented back in 2023. The photos above were taken the day before we moved out. I knew they were not originally ours, they were strays but in the few months we tried to pet them —I can't stand the thought of leaving them. I was completely unaware if our new landlady would be okay to have pets in the house. Regardless, I didn't have any second thought of bringing Catrat and Mama cat with us.
And here they are, in their new home. Catrat remains to be a little untamable while Mama cat is really so quiet but she loves to observe. Catrat loves to roam around the house and find spaces where she can hide. During the afternoon, both of them slept soundly. They have a strong liking to sleep on the rug. Aren't they the cutest?
It warms my heart to see her grow every day. Are those cheeks free to pinch? I can't stop staring at this cutie.
Aside from being a sleepyhead, she reigns in the house. She loves to stay anywhere and would not love it if I took candid photos of her. That stare is making me weak, Catrat!
Sleepy again. For a few months, I can attest that she's really adaptable. Not just transferring from one environment to another but in her sleeping area. She can sleep comfortably on the floor, on the bed and even in a square- size clock box. I was trying to transfer her inside but she's acting like she's not budging. I know she's cute but sometimes she's really silly and naughty.
More photos of our Catrat—squeezing under the bed, on the chair and even on the dustpan. She's literally the great invader in the house.
Catrat as my primary source of calming energy.
Before Catrat came into our lives, I always had that chaotic state of emotion and easily got rattled when things in life turned out bad. I struggled to maintain calmness and composure. But everything changed when I had Catrat. Few months after Catrat was with us, I noticed that calmness just comes so easily. I feel like I'm so steady when she's around the house. Whenever I talk to her—I guess she's listening. I can see it through her eyes and those stares speak so much volume. I think I read somewhere that it's better to talk to someone/something that doesn't talk back because at the end of the day, they will never judge you. You can't hear any hurtful words from them—their presence is already enough. And Catrat never failed to show it to me as her furmom. I'm utterly grateful and happy that Catrat became part of our lives. By reciprocation, we always show our care and attention to her every day to make her feel that she's truly loved. Of course, Mama cat is included even if she's still untamable.
That's what I've got for today, my dear Hivers! Thank you for reaching the end of this blog. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I do. Until next time!
