Today I woke up remembering some people that although they are no longer with me today were very special to me, it is incredible how they become an essential part of the house, they all passed at different stages but without a doubt, each one of them left a very big void in my heart.
Hoy me levanté recordando a algunos seres que aunque ya no están conmigo hoy fueron muy especiales para mí, es increíble como se convierten en parte esencial de la casa, todos pasaron en diferentes etapas pero sin duda, cada uno de ellos dejó un vacío muy grande en mi corazón.
Chloe y Kira
My dream was always to have a Siberian Husky as a pet, I dreamed with the idea that my mom would finally deign to buy one of these dogs, and that's how Chloe came into our life, she was only two months old when we had her in the house, at first she was messy but little by little she was learning and was so intelligent that she could even understand who our acquaintances were so she wouldn't bark at her, she was very playful. As time went by, the same person who sold us Chloe had a Husky that I loved because of all of them, she was the only one that had that peculiar color. She is the one next to Chloe, her name was Kira, she was not mine but she came twice a week to visit us at the house. I loved how happy Chloe was when they were with her sister, as they both understood each other so well and were happy to play and share, and we were in love with taking them out and showing them off, as most of the time it was all about them.
But then comes that sad part, when out of nowhere after years of sharing, you are told goodbye, how do you say goodbye to your pet? I cried for weeks and even as I write this my eyes are watering, remembering the pain I felt when we had to put him to sleep, we had no other option and the vet only suggested that option so it wouldn't be much more painful for her. It was right at the beginning of 2014. A 06-01-14. We are never ready to tell them goodbye and show them that all is well as they slowly close their eyes.
Mi sueño siempre fue tener un Husky Siberiano como mascota, soñaba con la idea de que mi mamá por fin se dignara a comprar uno de estos perros, y así fue como Chloe llegó a nuestra vida, sólo tenía dos meses cuando la tuvimos en casa, al principio era desordenada pero poco a poco fue aprendiendo y era tan inteligente que hasta podía entender quiénes eran nuestros conocidos para no ladrarle, era muy juguetona. Con el paso del tiempo, la misma persona que nos vendió a Chloe tenía una Husky que me encantó porque de todas ellas, era la única que tenía ese color tan peculiar. Es la que está al lado de Chloe, se llamaba Kira, no era mía pero venía dos veces por semana a visitarnos a la casa. Me encantaba lo feliz que era Chloe cuando estaba con su hermana, ya que ambas se entendían muy bien y estaban encantadas de jugar y compartir, y a nosotros nos encantaba sacarlas y presumirles, ya que la mayor parte del tiempo todo giraba en torno a ellas.
Pero luego viene esa parte triste, cuando de la nada después de años de compartir, te dicen adiós, ¿cómo te despides de tu mascota? Lloré durante semanas e incluso mientras escribo esto me lloran los ojos, recordando el dolor que sentí cuando tuvimos que dormirle, no teníamos otra opción y el veterinario sólo nos sugirió esa opción para que no fuera mucho mas doloroso para ella. Fue justo a principios de 2014. A 06-01-14. Nunca estamos preparados para decirles adiós y mostrarles que todo está bien mientras cierran lentamente sus ojos.
Kimberly
After several months Kimberly arrived, I never heard her bark, she just played and hid under the bed when she heard a rocket at Christmas. At first I didn't want to get attached to another dog but it's inevitable when you fall in love with her sweetness. When she was very happy she would run in circles and rarely bark, only when she felt she wasn't being listened to, that's our recent loss. And you don't know how I miss her. When I returned from Colombia a year ago, she was so happy to see me again, because it was me who played with her when I came home from college, and at all times because I loved her beautiful gaze full of tenderness, now she leaves an inexplicable void in my heart. But I am grateful that at least they have shared quality time with me, now I can only remember them with affection and thank them for being part of my little family.
Después de varios meses llegó Kimberly, nunca la oí ladrar, sólo jugaba y se escondía debajo de la cama cuando oía un cohete en Navidad. Al principio no quería encariñarme con otro perro pero es inevitable cuando te enamoras de su dulzura. Cuando estaba muy contenta corría en círculos y rara vez ladraba, sólo cuando sentía que no la escuchaban, esa es nuestra reciente pérdida. Y no sabes cómo la extraño. Cuando regresé de Colombia hace un año, se alegró mucho de volver a verme, porque era yo quien jugaba con ella cuando llegaba de la universidad, y en todo momento porque me encantaba su hermosa mirada llena de ternura, ahora deja un vacío inexplicable en mi corazón. Pero agradezco que al menos hayan compartido tiempo de calidad conmigo, ahora solo puedo recordarlos con cariño y agradecerles por ser parte de mi pequeña familia.
Lindo y Chiky
We have always liked cats, Lindo came into our lives when he was still learning to walk, he seemed to me such an intelligent cat, it was as if he listened to me and understood me perfectly, he knew when he had done something wrong and I would scold him, no matter how much he went out every night, he always came home. But he would come home scratched so we decided to get another cat with the intention that he would not go out and that way he would stay cute and beautiful like in that picture. And Chiky arrived, I was happy to have them both in my house, when the cat got pregnant, I didn't let her do anything for fear that she would get hurt, then my mom was a little stressed thinking how we were going to do with so many cats, that made me laugh a lot.
But from my point of view a cat is necessary in a home, and so we gave to our relatives the first 3 kittens of Chiky's pregnancy, of them I only want to remember the good things, because remembering that they are not with me hurts me, they spent so many years with us and now they are only part of my memories.
Animals come into our lives to teach us to love and we learn from the unconditional love they have for us, a pet fills us with joy and generates peace in those moments of stress that we find in our day to day, it was an honor for me to talk about them in this publication, which I hope you can also enjoy. Siempre nos han gustado los gatos, Lindo llegó a nuestras vidas cuando todavía estaba aprendiendo a caminar, me parecía un gato tan inteligente, era como si me escuchara y me entendiera perfectamente, sabía cuando había hecho algo mal y yo le reñía, por mucho que saliera todas las noches, siempre volvía a casa. Pero llegaba a casa arañado así que decidimos conseguir otro gato con la intención de que no saliera y así se quedara lindo y hermoso como en esa foto. Y llegó Chiky, yo estaba feliz de tenerlos a los dos en mi casa, cuando la gata se embarazó, no la dejé hacer nada por miedo a que se lastimara, entonces mi mamá estaba un poco estresada pensando cómo íbamos a hacer con tantos gatos, eso me hizo reír mucho.
Pero desde mi punto de vista un gato es necesario en un hogar, y por eso regalamos a nuestros familiares los 3 primeros gatitos del embarazo de Chiky, de ellos solo quiero recordar las cosas buenas, porque recordar que no están conmigo me duele, pasaron tantos años con nosotros y ahora solo son parte de mis recuerdos.
Los animales llegan a nuestras vidas para enseñarnos a amar y aprendemos del amor incondicional que nos tienen, una mascota nos llena de alegría y nos genera paz en esos momentos de estrés que encontramos en nuestro día a día, fue un honor para mí hablar de ellos en esta publicación, que espero que también puedas disfrutar. ¡Gracias por leer!
