Friends,
In Kolkata, we are in semi–LockDown situation nowadays. Important and emergency services are open.
In my locality which is little outskirts of the main city also apparently maintaining the directives of the Government.
The market is open from morning seven o’clock to ten o’clock. Sweet shops are opened from ten o’clock to five o'clock and medicine shops are open till night.
From nine p.m. to five a.m. night curfew is proceeding.
I hope we will get the benefit of this restriction in the area of controlling the second outbreak of COVID.
We have lost so many lives in COVID during the last one and half years and many people are still suffering.
The benefit of these restrictions is proven to help the society from this dreadful disease and if we maintain this it will help us to break the chain of contamination.
But there are some drawbacks of this restriction, which as a society we must take care of.
Thousands and thousands of people have lost their jobs, the earning of the people has gone down drastically, some of us are trying to cope up the daily needs in different methods.
Some of us have changed the profession to live the livelihood. We are going through a very difficult time.
Now the most popular work is work from home. I was not acclimatized with this word for my last thirty years of professional carrier. Now trying to adjust to it and it is very difficult.
My neighbor, who is a software engineer, was telling me that his working hour has been increased to almost seventeen hours after he has started work from home.
The prices of the commodities have increased by leaps and bound, but still, we have to purchase to live.
Today after a long interval I went to the market to purchase the common things and what I have seen I was shocked.
People are queening to purchase eggs, vegetables, and fruits as if this is their last and final marketing. Whatever may the cost people are ready to pay and trying to purchase more due to the fear of extending Lockdown.
I don’t know when this pandemic will end, but very much hope to see the bright sunshine.
Let’s stay together to overcome this situation.
Stay Safe and healthy.
