A while back I was thinking about how much difference there is from region to region, NorCal vs SoCal, East vs West. Ya get the idea. Then it accrued to me about (and not the obvious, ya jackass) the difference between boys and girls, dudes and chicks, Men and woman. So this is what happened at Yetis house the other night.
My gal and I are in our respective zones in our crib the other night. And for some reason we got on the subject of Elton John and his sexual preference. Now, my chick and I are both whatever 70s or 80s kids. I grew up in SF and she grew up in SoCal mainly. Well I cant remember wtf actually went down but it was something along the lines that she knew someone who liked Elton John!
and then when he found out he was queer, he didn't like him anymore. Well first off that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!!! And this cat just recently found out!!! Well within the past 10 years. The thing of it is, the dude was like 60 freakn years old!!!! Now you tell me how in dafaq does a person go damn near 40 freaking years and not know that Elton freakn John was gay?!?!?! Secondly I bet he listened to him secretly with headphones in a van down by the river. Blew my effn mind lemme tell ya.
So then Jennifer (my chick) says that she didn't know for awhile either. And I was all like WTF really?? How could you not know? Then, this long diatribe ensured that I wont bore ya with, lie this aint enough.
And this is where the difference in geography plays a part on what we learn, what we hear, what we see, and how we act and react to situations.
Growing up in SF I would have to say, was ok I reckon
. I mean its one of my favorite places. As I am sitting here tying this I do see how much influence it had on me. My perceptions, music flavor, food, OMFG the food. I would say that it is one of the reasons for my open-mindedness and cool demeanor. I just LOLd to myself thinking af my friend Ming Masterson growing up in WI. Love that kid. ANYWHO. Growing up in SF I never really thought about homosexuality I mean we used the word faggot, called people that and fag.
Just lold again thinking about hive(not this hive, but in a way yes. think about it)mentality. As a child your with your friends and either get introduced to discrimination or you are inductor. And how we then start to form our speculations, prejudices. And how fkd up we are as humans. I mean take this dude for instance, liked Elton, now he don't cuz he's gay. I mean WHAT THE ACTUAL FUK MAQN!! Its people like that, that make me wonder if homosexual marriage was globally accepted (by the law ya jackass) If he would run run and either get his dick sucked or suck a dick/ And then be all like OMFG I MISSED OUT ON THIS!?!??!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAA
I grew up listening to RNR, my mom and my aunts are all hippies so i KNOW good music
. My chick, pretty much the same. I went THRRASH METAL
she went Debbie Gibson
and the Bengals. WORLD of diff right. Now I do love me some 80s music. IDGAF!!! Its was cheesy, it was bad, GAWD AWEFUL. But it has a place deep in my heart. MY chick, all she listens to basically. For FIFTY GAWD DAMN YRS shes been listening to the sos on a daily. Bro, I had to give that shit up back in the 2000s. If I head "On The Road Again." one more fkn day 300 times a day I was going to go on a ballistic fkn rage. MY GAWD MAN> Went to country for a spell, lol. NEWP not Jennifer. She will listen to "I Think We're alone now" till her ears bleed and fall over foaming at the mouth and convulsing. RLY.
Back to it. Growing up in the bay I was presented many different coulters n shit. I had Philippino friends, Indian (DOT NOT FEATHER) FRIENDS, Tongan, Samoan, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees look at these, HAW GOTCHA!!! And with that a grip of musical influence. Plus the crackers I was around.
And growing up that way really, I suppose, influenced my perceptions
, acceptance, and openness to many things. I learned this at a younger age than people who have been on this planet 30 yrs before me!!! LMAO. I was raised in a fkd up ass dysfunctional family. But it was mine and I wouldn't trade it for yours. I also grew up in mainly woman dominant family. Hell it was basically me and My GPA as the two male figures in the immediate family.
ANYWAY, Then one day Jennifer was listening to fkn Brian Adams and said how all the girls loved him and his music. He was just dreamy. No, just no. Jennifer NOONE LIKES BRIAN FKN ADAMS!!! Brian Adams don't fkn like brain Adams. No one ever slept out front of ticket master the night before Brian Adams Went on stage at the county fkn fair!!! NO ONE!!!
Ok the gummy and beer are kickin in. So I must bid you ado. Ill pick up another time.
Have a happy day and dont forget to be awesome!!!
