Many a time, we admire certain successful people and we try to imitate them and wish we could be just like them but not long after, we fail and then go back to square one.
If you look at the lives of great people in whatever field they belong, you'll notice that they have one thing in common... Consistency.
There's a saying that goes;
Small daily efforts make big changes.
Consistency simply means, "Getting up and showing up."

Pexel
Sometimes we struggle with starting a thing and seeing it through be it for the reasons of lack of time, indiscipline, etc but then, if we keep with that pace is success certain?
A little story
When I started out on here, I was most inconsistent(I still am). I'll make a post this week and it could be until a whole month before I made another.
My onboarder would tell me to to try and do better. You'd think that I had too much on my plate which made me not put in the effort but it wasn't so. I was just lackadaisical. I was always trying to write too many things at once that I ended up writing nothing good thereby being unable to make a post.
As time went by, I decided to push myself a little. Even then, I was one foot in and one foot out. So, I made up my mind and challenged myself that however unmotivated I felt, there's not going to be an excuse anymore.
For a start, I said I was going to post at a strech for a week. I think today is the seventh day and this post just made me hit the target. Talk-about consistency!
I promise you, I haven't been as much impressed about my involvement on here than I am now. This might just be some small feat but to me, it isn't. In a short while, I'll be celebrating my one year anniversary on hive and until now, until today, never have I posted everyday for one week. Trust me, I learned lessons and got the benefits for my little effort.
HOW IT CAN BE ACHIEVED
Start small.
I probably would not have finished well if I gave myself a one-month challenge. But because a week is a short time in my mind's eye, it sort of seemed easy. In being consistent, break down the big goal into achievable bits and work on them.
Set reminder
It's not always enough that you have a set goal. You can keep a phone reminder that tells you what you should do and what you stand to achieve from it. Having a goal partner is also a good way to keep you reminded and motivated.
Reward yourself.
You deserve it. I'm yet to figure what I'll be doing or getting for myself. Achieving that goal should be a big deal to you so do something nice for yourself. Celebrate that little win.
Focus
I need not explain this too much. Eliminate distractions. Make a schedule r stick to it.
WHY IT IS IN DEMAND
Increases self confidence
When you do a thing more, you trust your own abilities and judgements.
Gets you noticed.
Consistency establishes and make known your reputation. Take hive for example, the more you create content which is always in people's faces, the more noticed and relevant you become.
Makes and keeps you motivated.
Sometime in my one week challenge, I lost the zeal but when I remembered what I was set out to achieve, I pushed myself some more. From being a workout, it becomes a habit.
Helps you get better.
Consistency fuels your desire to get better, to do better and to achieve great feats. The more you do a thing, the more your horizon expands and you get better. These past few days, I've learned so much and gained more clarity thani would have if I had stayed at the same pace.
It attracts valuable relationship.
When you're consistent, it shows you're serious and people are likely to believe in you and your capcity and would want to get affiliated with you.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
