For some time now, there has been different controversies over the Artificial Intelligence (AI) of a thing, but a lot of people do not understand it, they are only scared and paranoid. When I see people discussing about Artificial Intelligence, it is mostly like a are describing a strange new god, the one that can be extremely dangerous and threatening invisible yet, very brilliant and helpful.
Most people are scared that it is a job taker and it will soon take over every jobs by erasing the creativity that we have or even replace we humans. While some do not see it that way, but the regards to it as one of the greatest tools ever invented in the history of men. But in a way I see it, I will say AI is something personal because it is a reflector, just like a standing mirror. It shows us exactly who we are and not what we want.
As an individual who is finding his path in this world that is saturated with deadlines, different feelings, interest and dreams, I have found AI to be extraordinary useful. With it, I have been able to learn and know a lot of things in a way that it solved different projects problems which I once imagined might be unsolvable. It has given me different ideas and approach to doing things. But this does not refers to me not questioning its increasing visibility in our lives. But what matters the most now is that, is AI using us or are we using it?
We humans are sociable, we have feelings and we are moral beings. We imagine things in diverse ways, we love and at the same time, we feel. We make things not because we have the ability to, but because it gives us a sense of purpose. If artificial Intelligence starts to replace that area of our lives that gives meaning, our relationships, our art and the way we reason about things, then it shows that AI is not the threat. It simply means that we are starting to forget what it entails to be human.
And to me personally, AI is never a threat. It is just a tool if we use it with caution and we are being aware about it. Just like fire, it can burn or warm. Just like money, it can be of service or enslaving tool. Just like a man who wields a sword, it can be impactful as a weapon or neutral at the core.
And to be honest, AI is not a danger but the mindset using it. When we decide that we want to use it to assist instead of replacing, to uplift rather than using it to dominate, then is when we turn it into something beautiful.
At the end of it all, the artificial intelligence was not created to take our place. It was created to see if we are still human and to test our place. And for me, I believe that we are still fully human because that is exactly our place. Where we belong.
