AI is a tool not the threat

Artificial intelligence, also known as AI, is the most trending topic in present time. Almost everyone is talking about it. The concept of AI was known to some earlier also, but it became a hot topic in recent years, especially after the invention of ChatGPT. You heard it right. I am talking about ChatGPT, which got huge attention and people. It showed the power of AI to us and made us realize how powerful AI can be. It spread so fast, like in bloom, and it became popular overnight.

When new technology starts to be used frequently, it has both positive and negative sides. It’s like a double-edged sword, and in the case of AI, it is not different either. It can help us to make many things easier. In that case, it’s a tool for us that can be considered as a blessing, but again, many things can be done easily that are not good for us, and in that case, it can be considered as a threat. What do I think about AI? Do I consider it a tool, or is it a threat? Let me share my opinion on it.

After being admitted to university, I needed to prepare most of my lessons through the help of Google and YouTube. The reason was natural because I could get any information there. I need to search about the topic manually. All the information was not organized, even if I got the necessary information provided. Organizing that information needed a good amount of time. Sometimes, some information was quite hard to find. The most irritating thing was I needed to open lots of links, and even I didn’t know if the information I was searching for was available there or not. It was like a blink box for me.

But after the arrival of ChatGPT, the situation changed. I can be asked for any information from ChatGPT. I needed to say it once, and ChatGPT presented all the information related to the topic I mentioned. The information is mostly provided in an organized way. I didn’t need to open lots of links to find the information. I didn’t need to waste time organizing any information. If I needed detailed information, I would just simply command, and ChatGPT would provide me with information how I wanted. In fact, I could demand information in my own preference. The good thing is I didn’t need to remind it to ChatGPT, and it provided me information in the style I wanted the previous time. Finding information was not so easy for me before ChatGPT arrived.

Watching YouTube videos was time-consuming, and I needed a lot of time to find information from YouTube videos. Many times, I didn’t find any information even after watching the full video. Such a thing made me irritated. But after I started to use AI, I just needed to give the link to YouTube, and it provided me with the summary and highlighted points of the video. Rather than wasting my time to find the information in videos, I got it within one minute just using AI. In that case AI reduced my difficulties and saved my time. I am thankful to AI for helping me to study a lot and for saving huge amounts of time.

In the case of designing/drawing a picture, it requires a lot of time. Many are not good at it also. But I can draw/create any pictures just by commanding what kind of output I want. In the case of generating pictures, I think AI has become the brush of our mind that can represent our thoughts. It’s not a simple thing. There are many use cases of AI, and I can say many points for it, but I am not going for those, as you also know the use case of AI well, like me. I just mentioned the top 3 use cases of AI for me. So, in my case, AI is just a tool that helps me a lot.

In case of a negative use case, I just say a few things only. Good and bad always coexisted. In the case of positive and negative use cases of AI, it’s also the same. All the time AI can be a threat to us, but for that we can’t forget about so many advantages we are receiving from AI. And mostly we humans decide how to use AI. As long as we are good, AI is a tool for us, and if we are bad, it can be a threat.
