Greetings, everyone.
Leaving school is one of the biggest turning points in our life. It’s exciting, but also uncertain because I don't know what's in store for me. But I believe that my work and honesty will play a role in moving me towards success. The structured routine of classes, exams, and teachers ends and you step into a world where the path is no longer fixed.
Today, I want to share some honest advice for anyone leaving school, based on lessons that life teaches beyond the classroom.
Live a disciplined life
After school life, the most important thing is to live a disciplined life. I can tell you from my life experience that if you think that college life means freedom, a life of joy from school life, then it is a wrong idea. Many people think like this in excitement. But these thoughts will encourage you to lead a chaotic life and you will not be able to understand when you will deviate from your goal. Although there is some freedom in college life, but this freedom also has to be balanced with discipline.
Life Won’t Follow a Straight Path
School feels predictable for me like grades, schedules, and yearly progress. But in my opinion life after school is different. Careers and opportunities rarely happen in perfect order. When I went to college, I thought that I would have some freedom in my studies, but I was wrong. Basically, after going to college, you have to study more systematically. Because it is important to study well in college for admission to a good university. But you have to be flexible. Plans change, and that’s okay. The path of your success may takes unexpected turns.
Skills Are More Better Than Certificates
In school, grades are important for you but In life, skills make the biggest difference. I first said that to study in a good university, you have to study well in college. However, attending a reputable university and earning a degree alone does not ensure that you will be successful in life. There are many students in our country who are struggling for a low paying job despite studying from good universities. In our country, being a successful person means either you have to have a government job or you have to be a BCS cadre, which only a handful of people can achieve. And the rest of those who lose in this race are neglected in the society and are like a living corpse. I am not saying that you should accept defeat in this competition. But you should definitely master something alternative, and for this I think you should master some skills after school life. Any practical life-based skill, be it coding, managing AI tools, art, freelancing skill, physical activity that you are good at etc. Degrees may open doors for you, but skills help you stay inside and grow . So Keep learning new skills.
Avoid Comparing Your Journey to Others
After school, some people seem to move ahead faster with better study, jobs, more money, or exciting lifestyles. But let's not forget that everyone’s path is different. The key to being confident and happy in life is not to compare yourself with anyone. However, it is also our nature that at some stage in life we compare ourselves with others. By being satisfied with our positive aspects, we will have to come out of this in a very short time and try to work without comparing and think about our own progress.
Taking advice from knowledgeable or favorite teachers nearby
Speaking from my own life, life after school life seems complicated and uncertain to me. You will make mistakes, but you must learn from them quickly. I had very little idea of what life would be like after college. I lacked good guidance. In your college life, there should be a close teacher or a wise person, be it a neighbor or someone else, from whom you should take advice on how your college life should be and what difficulties are waiting for you. Advice from wise people may not play a life-changing role in your life, but it can help you face challenges later in life.
Conclusion
Leaving school marks the start of your independent journey, not its conclusion. More freedom will come with greater responsibility. My recommendation is straightforward. Continue to learn, be flexible, and lead an intentional life.
