Nameste friend's. I'm glad to participate in this week #iucontest. Looking back to my nine months journey on #hive, I would say it has been a tremendous experience for me because I had the right motive and expectation. I also had a good mentor who helped me navigate through the system until I was able to understand to a certain extent and do things on my own.
Now, my advice to newbies will be highlighted using bullet points, so it's not missed.
■ The first thing is to have the right motive when joining the platform. Many people come in thinking they would make lots of money during their short stay here and get disappointed when it's not forthcoming. Regarding this, the onboarder should educate the newbies on what to expect and to have long-term goals.
■ Engagement is another factor that helped me stay visible on hive. Newbies should endeavor to engage with others, read post published by others, and learn to improve on their own skills. This way, they would also make friends who help them succeed with good advice.
■ Consistency is one that I hold on to dearly. It's not easy to publish a post every day because we live in a busy world. I've learned consistency is also vital if we want to be seen on hive. There are weekly contests that we can engage on that are not lengthy, like the #posh and #gosh and so many others, including microblogging through #waves and other frontends.
■ Set goals and stick to it. You can also set simple goals like a writing streak, commenting streak, or even give music reviews on #vibes or if you can write music, you can do that as well. There are lots of music communities to join on hive.
■ Do what you love. Do not join a community just to get voted on. Do what you are passionate about so that you will always be happy regardless of the votes.
■ Lastly, if you have other hivers around you, do not hesitate to reach out for help. Learn more by participating in #hive meet-up and #workshops because we all get to learn more from others and exchange ideas on how to grow on hive.
These are some of the steps that helped me scale this far on hive for the past 9 months, and I've achieved some of my goals by following the above-mentioned advice.
I hope this is useful to all the newbies. You can dm for further questions regarding this.
I invite @ozibaby, @iquo, and my mentor, who helped me through this journey @beauty197 to come and participate in this contest @indiaunited/last-contest-results-and-new-contest
