I will write this week's prompt from my experience. So, I will love to advise newbies based on my experience on Hive. I joined Hive last year but stopped posting because of little engagement and votes. I thought I was wasting my time. I thought to myself, what can this give me? This can't earn me a lot of money.
But this year, I visited my mentor who introduced me to Hive, and we talked at length about Hive. She showed me her account and others' accounts on Hive. I was motivated to come back to Hive, and since March, when we talked, I have been active and seen a lot of changes.
This is my advice for you.
Number
1 Don't give up on Hive Hive is just like other social media that loves your consistency. Be consistent, show up daily, even if you're not getting the votes you expect. Keep writing and posting, and one day you'll thank yourself for not giving up.
2 Engagement: Don't just post on Hive; engage with others' posts too. Vote and comment. At least 10 to 20 comments in a day.
3 Follow: Don't wait until people follow you before you do. Follow anyone who shares knowledge with their posts. It has helped me a lot to be inspired, know what to write, and how to write it.
4 Look beyond the money: Yes, look beyond it. Learn to be consistent first, and the money will follow. There are a lot of things to learn on Hive. Go for knowledge, get inspired by others people post too.
Relationship: You can make relationships through Hive too. Don't just learn; build friendships too. My mentor met some of her friends here, and they often go to vacation together.
Save: Don't earn just for the aim of withdrawing and spending. Save the money you earn on Hive and also invest with it.
Explore:Explore communities, read their rules and regulations, don't just post. Read rules first and use the necessary tag to your posts.
I'm just one year on Hive, and these are the little advice I can give for now. You can learn more from others that have been here longer than I.
I wish you the best on hive.
