After months of planting and nurturing my maize plant, all thanks to the extended rain towards the beginning of November. My maize plant is designed to span for 3 goods months but there are some delay due maybe lack of nutrients from the soil. I was lucky enough that, some have dried off while some are reaching to be harvested. So part of ones that just reach to be harvested are the ones I am not roasting right now. Though I only have few of them.
Things I used and the roasting process.
- Charcoal
- Asun stand
- Matches
Basically, this is not the kind if stand used by those who use to roast corn by road side, they use something smaller that will be close to the top where the corn are placed.
First thing first is, I went on a short trip to get charcoal to make light.
Placed my maize on the top of the burner to get the maize roasted. Then blow the burning charcoal with plastic hand fan in my hand.
After some minutes, the corn is already getting roasted because the burning charcoal was heavy so made the roasting to be quicker. I invited some of my neighbors to taste of the roasted maize.
Also had a taste but not much because I am an ulcer patient.
All thanks to @felixxx who iniated the #maizechallenge2022 .
