The long waiting contest is here to stay and I believe we are all ready to get busy with the maize contest initiated by a friend @felixxx,
The process has not been easy but finally I got what I actually needed for the maize 🌽 contest, the field selection has been a major problem for me,because I don't want to start the project on a less nutrients land and that makes it so difficult for me to start the project on just anyhow piece of land,I visited several land owner for rent and most of them declined, because last year was very rough and though for every one due to the inflation in price of farm produce,and also the problem of herdsmen encroaching into peoples farm,this as made the farmers to make use of close land farm around the neighbour hood, and it has really affected me in getting a land around, but finally I got one from my father in-law
THE MEASUREMENT OF THE LAND
The land was about 60ft lent by 45ft breath

After the measuring of the land I preceded to the second stage
STAGE2 clearing of the land
I did the clearing and cleaning of the bushes on the land and also remove some plastic and stones that could disturbed the farming activity,I make use of a rake,cutlass and how to clear

to remove the unwanted particles and bushes on the land,the tools where not enough so I decide to get my personal tools from the market cutlass and a new hoe
after getting the tools the clearing proper took place where I cleared all the unwanted bush and burn them with fire
After all this I made a research and I discovered that the land was used not long ago so I decided to make use of some organic manure from a poultry close to the farm to fertilized the soil, I collected some poultry waste
and pure on the soil and the most interesting thing is that rain fell just immediately I finished applying the manure and that will help the manure to sink into the soil, I have decided to make the farm natural and I will be making use of local mechanized tools including the fertilizer and herbicide, in my next post I will be given and update as regards my progress on the contest
