I was left disappointed to see my maize burnt on the ridges after planting due to lack of rain. I planted my maize some weeks back together with ground-nut. You can check how I planted my first maize here. Though before I planted the maize, the ground-nut has already sprouted, before I have already planted the ground-nut ahead, then planted the maize after a week but since then the maize never sprouts due to lack of rain but the ground-nut are all doing fine.
At first, I was left discouraged to continue with the #maizechallenge contest but thanks to @peterale who advice me to create a small space and replant the maize since the ground-nut has already taken all the space on the ridges and even some of them have started flowering.
So I decide to heed to his advice and went out to buy another seed of maize. But I don't want it to be like the first one so I have to wait till the rain shower to make the ridges since the land is becoming hard and thank God there was a heavy raining today, so I used the opportunity to make some ridges and plant the maize.
I make a four row of ridges, three rows has contain four ridges, one row contains three ridges and the last row contains two ridges which makes the ridges a total sum of seventeen ridges with a good spacing to avoid overcrowding. A big thanks to my wife @leemah1 for her support during the planting process.
I hope that the rain continue like the one that fell overnight so that the seed will sprouts soon.
I will keep you all updated about my maize and big thanks to @felixxx for the initiative of the maize challenge #mc2022.
