"It’s a strange and scary sensation to suddenly forget your own name" Methuselah said with a faint note of hysteria in his eyes. He couldn't remember anything about himself lying helplessly On the dry land with shattered bones. He furrowed his brow and tilted his head quizzically,
"Where am I?" He asked indistinctly, he couldn't remember how he got himself here. The wrinkled shrubs and decayed ruins was a sign that he had laid there for a long time. He was about to bolt upright when he felt a sharp pain around his ankle, he lifted his shorts exposing the bruises on his skin.
He staggered in the desert not knowing where he was going and wondered how long he had laid there to have grown grays all over.
"Who am I?" He said loudly, only the echo of his voice reverberated in the empty space. The weight of his pocket wavering to and fro indicated the presence of an item, he dipped his hands and brought out a locket, in it was a photo of a young soldier. He burst out into an almost maniacal laughter.
"I'm way too handsome to be this," he said with a smirk.
He shrinkled away immediately when he saw the words "YOU'RE BEING HAUNTED" written beside the picture. He took on his heels not knowing exactly where he was going. He barely remembers who he was and if indeed that was him on the locket, who then is haunting him, he thought as he wandered around in search for safety. He Shuffled steps that scuff the floor and fell helplessly on the sand when his strength could no longer carry him. His vision became blurry and gradually everything went dark.
He woke up hours later in a small hut and looked around in different directions puzzled to find himself there.
"Where am I?Who are you?What do you want to do to me?" He asked concurrently.
"Calm down, Methuselah, you're safe. We found you lying half dead in the dessert and decided to bring you here"
"Methuselah?" He said under his breath.
"Here is your locket, we've found your name written on it" The Arabian man said. "So where are you from?" He added.
"I don't know," he replied, "I don't even know who I am," he said, lowering his brow.
"Your uniform shows you're a Pakistani soldier, you probably might have been injured during the war that made you lose your memory, I'll send you back to Pakistan, hoping someone will recognize you as the only survivor". He let out a deadly laugh as he read the writingyou're being haunted
"Tell them you're the only survivor, it's a message from us to your camp" the Arabian man said, "your amnesia is what had saved you tonight" he added, this time with a frown look.
