Welcome
Apologies for the tardiness of this post, my personal life - as I have alluded to in previous posts and personal updates - has been quite... "extra"... lately. Adding that to turning 30 over the weekend, I COMPLETELY forgot that I hadn't actually released the winner's announcement! This month's prompt was to give us the very best Comedic piece with a central theme of Vengeance woven throughout. BOY, did you guys bring the heat! Without further ado, let's review October's top submissions!
Drumroll, please...
Our Winners!
Gold: 50 SCHOLAR, 3 SCRIBE, and 3 HSBI goes to: @grocko!
Grocko brought us a hilarious piece about woman scorned, a plot for revenge, and an ancient language spoken by the long-lost civilization of... Florida... This story was wild, funny, and expertly written, earning it the top spot on our list for this month!
Silver: 40 SCHOLAR, 2 SCRIBE, and 2 HSBI goes to: @grindan!
Grindan brought us a new spin on a familiar fairy tale, told from the frog-prince's point of view. It was funny, relatable, and deliciously chilling with the vengeance aspect of the story! A PERFECT read for the spooky season of October!
The Frog Who Didn't Want to be a Prince
Bronze: 30 SCHOLAR, 1 SCRIBE, and 1 HSBI goes to: @gracepro!
Gracepro brought us a very funny story of a demon, hell-bent on exacting vengeance and wreaking havok on the world which shunned her, but running into a very... well, challenging road-block. But, you know what they say, "Demons can't be choosers!"
Runners-Up:
Two exceptional authors who we felt deserved special mentions as Runners-Up were:
Zeraton's off-color story How to Make Neighbor Soup about a cannibalistic alien species trying to escape a dark past, and nmore's funny and relatable story Playing God both were such high quality and so funny that it made judging between all these pieces VERY difficult. When you have to split hairs to determine the top 3, you KNOW you've got an extremely high-quality top five!
You will both be receiving 15 SCHOLAR and .5 SCRIBE as reward for your good work and participation.
Conclusion
So, this concludes our October S&S Monthly Competition! Rewards will be divvied up within the next 24 hours so be watching your wallets to ensure your winnings come through!
A special thanks to the LeoFinance Community for sponsoring this competition with $LEO to be distributed to participants and contestants as a thank you for being involved in Scholar & Scribe! Y'all are amazing, and we appreciate the heck outta ya! Also, special thanks to @wrestlingdesires and @thoth442 for serving on the judges panel with me this month. I say it every month, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart: your service and company makes the job of judging so much more enjoyable, and much more sustainable in the long-term! Thank you guys so much.
In acknowledgement and appreciation for the LeoFinance Community and their sponsorship of this contest, let's get #ss-monthly trending over on Leo Threads! Share this announcement post with a quick message of love and appreciation for the Leo community and make sure to use the #ss-monthly tag!
Thank you all for following this competition, be watching for the next monthly contest to drop this week! Easiest way to track them is to follow me since I will always be hosting the contest from this acount, but the general rule of thumb is that they'll always be dropped in the first week of a new month and pinned to the top of the Scholar & Scribe community page with the #ss-monthly tag! See y'all in the next one!
As always, take care of yourselves and each other, and stay thoughtful!
Your friendly neighborhood dork,
~Thinkr
