Greetings Home Edders!
A few weeks ago, when my son is about to start the school year as a kindergarten my elder sister bought a phonetic learning tool (it comes with a green pen) online to help us enhance his knowledge while we are homeschooling him (face to face education is still barred in our country because of the threat of pandemic). The green pen will produce spoken sounds such are "not that one", "well done", "try again", "almost", "close", "you are right", "good answer" in a kiddie manner depending on the answer being chosen.
It turns out the Phonetic Learning tool is exactly what we needed to help us in homeschooling our son. It helps improve a child's thinking and hearing ability (with interaction). It contains phonetic lessons of the English alphabet, animal zoo, numbers, classical songs, common fruits, and person titles.
It is surprisingly a very interesting and engaging learning tool because of the sounds, spoken words, and music that are built-in into the tool.
Number Recognition and Memorization
We started his learning of simple numbers recognition and memorization. In this lesson, an image of a pencil, ruler, and a group of numbers are presented on one page. He was tasked to choose the right length of the pencil by pressing the green pen to the correct answer from the group of numbers.
He did well on this one because prior to this lesson he already know how to count from one to twenty.
The simple numbers lesson comes in different types. The first one is choosing the correct length of the pencil accompanied by images of a pencil, ruler, and group of numbers.
The other type is finding out the right quantity of the images given. He also did well on this one.
First, we told him to count the images on the left side then we asked him to pinpoint the corresponding number by using the green pen on the group of numbers presented on the right side of the page of the learning tool.
This lesson is much more enjoyable for him because of the color images of candies, fries, and lollipops
Time Learning, Recognition, and Memorization
This next lesson is somewhat new to him since he was tasked to identify the correct time given in the images of clocks on the left side of the page of the learning tool then pinpoint the correct answer on the right side also by using the green pen.
While we were immersed in the lesson I noticed that our son is still enjoying his lesson because of the tool's effectiveness in making a child interested in learning by making them interact with the tool themselves.
He also did well on this lesson, we first taught him how to properly read the time on a clock then we asked him to pinpoint the aswers.
Identifying Similar Shapes
Here's another lesson that is entirely new to him, identifying the baby of an animal. In this lesson, a corresponding animal's baby and mother are presented in a group.
We first taught him that a baby and the mother look exactly the same and right at the bat when we asked him to pinpoint he correctly chose the correct answer, he did a great job again on this one.
All in all, he enjoyed all the lessons that we taught him using the phonetic learning tool.
See you at the next lesson.
Keep safe and have a nice day.
