I love seeing young creative minds put their skills to work. Lately I’ve witnessed several of them forming small businesses with what they love to do. I think it’s amazing when they start early on creating clientele and showing ambition for making their own monies.
There is a thirteen year old girl whom I got to know better this year at our homeschool co-op. I watched her get creative with her artwork during art sessions and seen how she loved to draw and color. She is such a sweetheart who always looks out for my little ones too.
For teacher appreciation day she made us these beautiful beaded keychains that I currently just switched to using. I was very impressed with the quality and treasure my gift very much.
I later on noticed these beautiful bracelets that she, her mother and sister were wearing. There was a mixture of pretty white pearls, silver costume jewelry and other details that caught my eye. I love how each of them wore five or more to adorn their wrists.
I learned that she was starting an LLC for her custom jewelry. How impressive at this age that she is already creating business for herself and wanting to turn her passion into income. I already loved the bracelets and wanted some of my own but hearing this information made me want to support her even more.

I feel it’s important to support and encourage young people who have a good head on their shoulders and are willing to work hard. Her mother told me she keeps good track of her monies and doesn’t hesitate to collect what’s owed to her. 😄
When I reached out to her she immediately took note of what I wanted and asked questions to make sure she understood. I told her I wanted a pink bundle of bracelets with a variety of pearls and beads. I explained how I’d love having some diamond jewels along with a touch of ivory or vanilla pearls to offset the pink.
She asked if I wanted to add any costume jewelry and showed me some examples of what she could do. I wanted a plate with the word FAITH on it but that wasn’t available. I decided to go with the words STRONG and BELIEVE instead. She gave me an estimated price for 8 bracelets (I love the look of them flowing up the arm so I wanted quite a few) then generously gave me a discount off of that price.
After our conversation she went out and gathered the supplies and texted a picture to me with everything she had purchased. I was already in love with the beads and pearls I saw and she hadn’t even started making the bracelets yet lol. 😆
She provided a timeframe of when they would be finished and told me she would ship them after payment was received.
Can’t you tell she comes from a family of business owners?
Both her mom and dad run successful businesses and have taught her very well how to handle herself. I think she did an excellent job with me as a customer as I am very happy with my bracelets and how she handled our transaction.

This has been very motivating for my twelve year old daughter who also has a business and entrepreneurship mentality. She is always trying to find ways to make money to buy the things she wants. She was only eight when she first sold her drawings and paintings.
She is now working on creating flip books. It’s been a real treat watching her artistic skills develop and her interest expand into more creative ways to enjoy art. We’re thinking about letting her create her own Hive account to share all of her endeavors here. It will serve as many learning purposes as well as potential earning purposes to further encourage her.
I am really loving my bracelets! I want my next set to consist of blacks and silvers for when I dress up for a night on the town and have date nights with my husband. I will also keep these in mind for gifts too. Custom made is the way to go! 😃
I plan to continue supporting and encouraging young entrepreneurs and their businesses. This is a testament that you don’t have to be a certain age to pursue a career. Heck you don’t even have to be college bound to do so either. All you need is a passion, determination and a plan to set things forth in motion.
