Hello everyone
Welcome to my blog.
Having children around us makes the environment so lively, although they come with their differences, but what I'm actually marvels at is their willingness to learn.
I noticed from my little niece that every child has their uniqueness, and they should be treated based on that, but not all the time, because they might end up having no clue of what we ignore teaching them.
My nieces came visiting since they were on holiday, their coming was of great benefits to me, and they did excellently well. Due to the high cost of garri in our state, so we decided to process it ourselves, the work was so stressful I needed help from every angle, so when they arrived, I was quite excited because God has answered my prayers by sending me helpš¤£, so we started the garri processing by going to the farm to harvest the cassava.
They followed us to the farm, i showed them how to uproot the cassava, though their strength didn't carry it, so i assigned them gathering the cassava, then i carried them back to the house, procceded to showed them how to handle the knife to pill the cassava to avoid injuries, we pilled the cassava together working, they did great, after pilling and washing, we went to the mill together for the granding and squeezing to remove the water. Brought them back, i showed them how to sheave the cassava, then set the fire for frying, i started the frying while they were observing it, later handed it over to her in order to try it while i stand and supervise, and i was shocked that she did perfectly well, and she was frying it without stress.
I taught them everything I did, and the learnt with ease, they were overwhelmed with joy,
Then what came to my mind was truly whatever training we instill in our child during their childhood sticks with them, they never forget it, except they choose not to do it.
The willingness of the kids to get involved was really an exciting moment for me because with their help i got to finished on time, and without much stress in the process, and they did it with great excitement on their faces. Although they made me to shout, yet my screaming didn't steal that excitement on their faces.
It was a moment where I got to teach them by sharing the work for them (division of labour) which help to fasten the process. And they did excellently well, I'm proud of them.
Children's involvement in domestic work helps to build up strong and active kids for the future. I love this Bible verses that said*....."Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it". (Proverbs 22:6) *I always congratulate my sister for a great job done on her children.
Their stay was worth it, they put a smile on my face, and help reduce the stress of working alone.
Thank you for reading to the end.
