Hi to all unschooling families!
Do you use online courses?
My son is 10 now, and all these 3 years I was his only teacher. We didn't use any online courses or tutors but I do understand I won't be able to give him all info by myself because I amn't a specialist in all spheres, and actually it's impossible to be a genius in everything;)
My son is fond of painting comics. He doesn't draw anyhting except them. he creates a story in his head and draw it in scenes like in comics.
At first I thought I had to find a nice painting teacher for him in my city. And we even tried to visit some lessons, but they didn't teach to draw comics:( They gave classical information about shadows and forms but it wasn't interested for him. I do know a painter should know the basis but now he isn't interested in it, so it's not time for this.
There are some books about it in the library but they are too complicated for a 10-year old boy, so we needed something lighter for kids exactly.
I started to seek for online variants of education, and I found a great online course for kids of his age! Comics painting course just what we need!
There are some lessons there, video from a painter who teaches kids to understand comics world better.
I bought this course at once because I was sure he would be eager to see some professional info about it.
We bought special pencils, markers, pens - all he will need for his first online lessons.
Yesterday he started his course;)
it's great we have 1 year access for the course, so we aren't in a hurry and can choose any time we want for watching videos. The best for unschooling;) No shedule;)
And I paid for the additional option to send my son's works to the teacher to see her comments. And in the end my son will get his personal paper about finishing of this online course.
So let's see his start;)
it's the screen with teacher's explanation
The first lesson was devoted to the painting of a characters using simple geometrical forms.
The teacher was explaning how to draw faces and different types of body using them
I like the course is good even for kids who haven't studied painting earlier (like my son).
And btw I must admit it's interesting even for me;)
that's what he has painted during his first online lesson;)
I think it's not bad for the first try of the kid who can't draw at all;)
to be continued;)
