Hola a todos los miembros de @homeedders en esta oportunidad les voy a contar de nuestro aprendizaje de las palabras y su grafía a través de la copia. Diego ya comenzó a realizar caligrafía y en este proceso una de las instrucciones de la maestra es que el en casa debe realizar copia de las palabras desde ya sea un libro de texto o de la pizarra esto para que se vaya familiarizando con las palabras completas porque ya hemos superado la etapa silábica de la escritura, en la lectura aún estamos en ella.

In our case, for me copying words was a distant memory from my own school years and so I had to look for information to learn what this strategy was about and how the process was for 5 year old Diego to learn it in a simple and meaningful way. In my case I did not remember much of my own process and when the teacher told me that he should copy at home I imagined giving him a book and having him copy a paragraph or two, nothing further from reality. I learned that as parents we must place ourselves in the degree and level of cognitive development of our children to help them with the strengthening of their abilities and skills and that we should not judge their work as adults but place ourselves in the achievements that they according to their age have achieved.
En nuestro caso para mí la copia de las palabras era un lejano recuerdo de mi propia etapa escolar y por ello tuve que buscar información para aprender de que se trataba esta estrategia y como era el proceso para que Diego de 5 años lo aprendiera de forma sencilla y significativa. En mi caso no recordaba mucho de mi propio proceso y cuando me dijo la maestra que él debía hacer copia en casa yo ya me imaginaba dándole un libro cualquiera y que copiara un párrafo o dos, nada más alejado de la realidad. Aprendí que debemos como padres ubicarnos en el grado y nivel de desarrollo cognitivo de nuestros hijos para ayudarlos con el fortalecimiento de sus capacidades y habilidades y que no debemos juzgar su trabajo como adultos sino ubicarnos en los logros que ellos según su edad han conseguido.

Copying is about locating words or texts that the child can imitate in his workbook. We were recommended a book where the words are clearly written in color and large so that he can fix them in his mind and reproduce them easily in his notebook. Another thing that we are working on and that we discovered with the copy is the grip of the pencil, at first it was a little difficult for him because the pencil in this case must have a good position and grip so that he can write more easily.
La copia se trata de ubicar palabras o textos que el niño pueda imitar en su cuaderno de trabajo, en el caso de Diego, comenzamos con palabras, pues él aun no lee completo y por tanto debemos adaptarnos a fortalecer y mejorar su proceso de aprendizaje y reconocimiento de las palabras. Nos recomendaron un libro donde las palabras están escritas de forma clara a color y amplias de manera tal que él las pueda fijar en su mente y reproducir con facilidad en su cuaderno. Otra cosa que estamos trabajando y que descubrimos con la copia es el agarre del lápiz, al principio le costaba un poco debido a que, el lápiz en este caso debe tener una buena posición y agarre para que él pueda escribir con mayor facilidad.

When we did some research on the copying strategy, we discovered that it helps not only to fix the words in our mind from their correct writing, but it also serves for the development of attention and memory. Para lograr establecer un mejor agarre y que sus manos puedan diferenciar los movimientos que amerita la grafía o escritura lo que hicimos fue intercalar la escritura con algunos dibujos guiados es decir en las cartillas para que así no sólo se distrajera un poco del trabajo de escribir sino también sus manos tengan mayor facilidad de movimiento. Investigando un poco acerca de la estrategia de la copia descubrimos que esta ayuda no solo a fijar las palabras en nuestra mente desde su correcta escritura sino que además sirve para el desarrollo de la atención y la memoria. Permite al niño formar hábitos de orden, exactitud, aseo en el caso de los cuadernos de trabajo, captar detalles entre otras capacidades de orden lógico racional.

Another thing that as parents we must consider is the stimulus, in many occasions the children get tired or annoyed when copying then we must as adults motivate them to continue, in our case we have the "mark of the day" and it is like a kind of game we tell Diego that our mark of the day are for example 5 words that he must copy in his notebook which allows him to have an equivalent of time drawing. The more time he wants to spend drawing or painting, the more words he copies in his notebook. Of course we also give him free time to do what he likes. Well, so much for our experience with copying.

Para aplicar la estrategia de la copia con nuestros hijos especialmente en la edad de 4 a 6 años debemos tener cuidado de seleccionar palabras y frases que se adapten a su capacidades y nivel cognitivo, seleccionar trozos o fragmentos de cuentos y escritos que no sean muy difíciles porque de lo contrario haremos de su trabajo algo largo e interminable. Otra cosa que como padres debemos considerar es el estímulo, en muchas ocasiones los niños se cansan o fastidian al realizar la copia entonces debemos nosotros como adultos motivarlos a continuar, en nuestro caso tenemos la “marca del día” y es como una especie de juego le decimos a Diego que nuestra marca del día son por ejemplo 5 palabras que él debe copiar en su cuaderno lo que le permite tener un equivalente de tiempo dibujando. Y así se motiva mientras tiempo desea para hacer sus dibujos o pintura más palabras copia en su cuaderno. Claro también le otorgamos tiempo libre para hacer lo que le gusta. Bien hasta aquí nuestra experiencia con la copia.
