Wow is been so long since I've had the time to update this blog! Apologies for such a delay, I have a copious amount of glorious photos and travels to share! Our children and of course ourselves, have been learning so much just from travelling to and exploring different places. We've not had a moments spare to sit down and write post, it's been such a whirlwind but in a really good way. But this place! Carnarvon blowholes, Quobba, is absolutely gorgeous! And definitely as good as I remember, I enjoy going back to places years later and finding it as good as it was when I was young. I visited this place as a teenager, it was a super basic camp with what we call thunderboxes or long drop dunnys (aka. Toilets) dotted around the dunes. Although they've put in a new toilet block and some shelters, the camp ground is relatively still the same. Nestled between sand dunes right on the beach, a glorious place to open your tent doors and almost jump straight into the ocean where you find a gorgeous coral reef. Up the track a little way is the famous Quobba blowholes, on a good day and at the right time these can shoot water 20 metres into the air! We had fun waiting patiently for the waves to role in and come up through the holes in the rocks. Our children also enjoyed hammering out pure rock sea salt from the rock hollows, as the water sprays out the residues settle on the rocks creating salt crystals, we enjoyed very tasty salt on our food.
